The editors liked

  • It's puuuuurty. The Pebble Steel's main goal is just to look more respectable than the nerd-toy it is
  • And it pulls that off wonderfully. Between the two bands included
  • It's easy to find the setup that works for you. And on top of that
  • The nice-looking
  • Elegant
  • High-end design
  • Easy to use
  • Customizable watch faces
  • Growing app store and feature set

The editors didn't like

  • Most of my quibbles with the Pebble are small
  • But they're magnified all the more considering everything around them is so stupid simple and good. You can't customize how long a notification stays on the screen
  • For instance. Notifications auto-dismiss af
  • Expensive

  • Elegant, high-end design, Easy to use, Customizable watch faces, Growing app store and feature set
  • Expensive
  • The Pebble Steel is as mature as smartwatches come; it couples sophisticated design with a burgeoning Pebble app store, and cements its place atop the competition...

  • Abstract:  I've been keen on smartwatches pretty much since day one. I get a lot of emails, texts, and assorted notifications, most of them garbage but some vitally important. Having a glancable screen on my wrist makes life infinitely easier. But smartwatches have ...

  • I like how Pebble's watches keep it simple. They're watches with slight upgrades, and don't try to do too much. One day, perhaps even one day soon, we will be strapping crazy sensors all over our bodies, including our wrists, and Pebble's approach might s...

  • If you want a smartwatch that doesnt look terrible and you want it right now, then sure. The Pebble Steel is pretty much the only option out there that combines the best notifications-on-your-wrist-ness of a smartwatch, the style of a legitimate piece of...

  • Great design, Decent Battery Life, Intuitive Functionality
  • Not as feature rich as its rivals, More expensive than the standard Pebble
  • The Pebble Steel may not provide the same degree of functionality as many rival smartwaches but it's still arguably one of the best options out there for anyone interested in wearable tech. By keeping things relatively simple, the device is able to enri...

  • The Pebble Steel – the whole Pebble range – falls in an odd position. They're not fitness trackers, although they have all the basic functions of them and they're not conventional smartwatches – the eink screens just don't fit into people's perception of...

  • While the Pebble Steel (and any smartwatch for that matter) isn't going to replace an expensive 'real' watch as a designer piece of jewelry, it is a great everyday watch. Its simplicity and monochrome screen are its strengths, giving you a long-lasting wa...

  • Class leading battery life, Comfortable strap, Premium feel
  • Large bezel remains, Lost charm of original model
  • The regular Pebble Time costs a very reasonable £180, an extra £50 will get you the Pebble Time Steel. The ultimate question is, is it worth the upgrade? We were really taken by the regular Pebble's geeky charm, it was cheap and plastic, but still...
