My main issues with Piper were how the notifications didn't always show up as push notifications, even though they appeared in the app, and the fact that it dropped its network connection at least once a day. That might be my entire network going down (I ...
Abstract: When it works, it's great--the camera's wide angle can see an entire room at once, and Piper's app is well designed and easy to use. In fact, the app was what let me know the camera was losing its network connection pretty much every day, usually just for...
Abstract: Available in a choice of black or white, the Piper, with dimensions of 155 x 87 x 65mm (H x W x D), adopts a squashed cylindrical shaped body mounted on a matte silver stand. Decorating the front of the Piper is a HD 2MP camera giving a 180 degree view of...
Affordable, Z-wave compatible, Super wide-angle camera, Simple interface and controls
No night vision, Occasional network connection issues, conspicuous exterior Design could give it away, Can't export saved videos from the cloud
Piper definitely isn't as robust as a full-on, professionally-installed security system backed by a 24-hour response service, but for $239 it'll get you most of the same benefits. In all honestly, the only thing Piper missing is a response team, so if y...

Abstract: The Piper security system consists of one wide angle HD video camera and sensors. The device is elegant and simple, standing about 6” high on a metal base. My unit is white, though it comes in black as well, and would fit perfectly on a table or counter, ...
There are a ton of useful home security and home automation features squeezed into Piper's compact frame. It looks great, too, which doesn't hurt
The app design is a little busy, and I wish it had night vision. If you don't like Z-Wave, you're kind of out of luck in the accessories department
Don't expect Piper's slight build to mean that it's short on performance. This $239 all-in-one security system offers a great value for smaller homes and budding DIYers.
