  • Good connectivity and file format support
  • Expensive considering there’s no built-in storage
  • The NeoTV is also pretty expensive for a device that doesn't have a built-in hard disk – in fact, it even makes the Apple TV look cheap

  • Internet TV features didn't work properly; slow to respond to buttonpresses,
  • Works fine as a media player and streamer - just don't buy it for the internet features ...

  • Despite a couple of little blemishes, the Netgear NeoTV NTV550 is a solid network streamer that's very easy to use. We like its style and features and it performed as it should in our tests. At £136, it's more expensive than smaller media streamers su...

  • General compatibility, HD audio formats: support and bitstreaming, Full Bluray support, including Java menus, Content display options: page of covers, coverflow or list, Compatible with 3D MVK sidebyside files
  • Video jukebox system not as good as in competitors' models, Ogg Vorbis format not supported, Flash memory (USB key or SDHC card) required to play Blurays isn't included, Subtitles not always handled well, Can't resync audio or video files
  • Netgear is back in the media centre market with a decent product. The NeoTV 550 has plenty of options, good multimedia compatibility and a nice user interface. If Netgear is on the ball with manufacturer follow-up then this could shape up to be a popul...

  • Apart from a fairly fiddly internet content browser, there’s not much wrong with the NeoTV 550. It’s not special enough to justify its premium price, though. ...
