Despite sharing the physical traits of its predecessor, the PT-AE3000, this projector offers a marked improvement in performance. Compared to some rival models, the PT-AE4000 is fairly bulky, which could make placement trickier. There’s also some intrusive noise from the front-mounted fans. Less importantly, it’s not the best-looking piece of kit, with its functional, boxy design more suited to a corporate boardroom than a stylish living room.
