  • Armed with native 24fps playback and marginally better blacks, the Panasonic TH42PX80 represents an evolutionary rather than revolutionary improvement over its predecessor the PX70 series....

  • Don’t believe the hype: Full HD isn’t for everyone. At anything below 42 inches, HD-ready looks great, as demonstrated by the ultra-precise detail on this stunning 37-incher. Plasma’s natural colours, jerk-free motion and deep, deep blac...
  • Very little. There aren’t many visual tweaks on offer but that makes it super-easy to set up. The only real drawback is muffled audio from the built-in speakers that gets even grumpier when you crank up the bass. Definitely a candidate for an AV amp...
  • Downsize your telly and upsize your expectations – you don’t need 1080p to get jaw-dropping picture quality. A 37-inch beauty to bring HD to the smallest living rooms.Panasonic TH-37PX80B is tagged with Panasonic TH-37PX80, television, plasma...

  • Low price, inky blacks, pin-sharp detail, kind to Freeview and DVDs, unique size for a plasma
  • Slight judder on fast camera pans
  • anasonic’s 37-inch plasma beats its LCD TV rivals hands-down with both Freeview and high-def. And its price tag makes it impossibly attractive...

  • Outstanding pictures, Good connectivity, Price
  • HDMIs not v1.3, Colours could be more vibrant, Occasional orange tone to rich reds
  • Plasma technology is far from the dead duck some would like you to think it is. Samsungs 50in plasma is a cracker, especially in raw value terms. And this 42in Panasonic effort is even better.Clever technologyIts hit and miss, however, on the connect...

  • Abstract:  Plasma TVs tend to be bigger and more expensive than LCD TVs, but this ones price and size put it in direct competition with the LCD TVs here. Its appearance blends right in, too, with a glossy black bezel that looks smart and unobtrusive. An SDHC ...

  • Available on-line for well under £1000 and with additional features over the PX70, the TH-37PX80 represents what is possibly the best value plasma package at the time of writing. Full HD models from Panasonic with the latest image processing technology...

  • Picture quality; ease of use; cost; design
  • Sub-standard sound quality
  • If you want strong, deep black levels and a fantastically sharp picture, then this is the set for you. Its only let down by its poor quality sound, which is a real problem during movie viewing, so youd owe it to yourself to buy a AV receiver, too ...
