  • Cree's newest LED floodlight is brighter than advertised and more efficient than just about every other BR30-shaped LED that we've tested. It didn't flicker or buzz in any of our dimming tests, it aced our heat build-up tests and it comes with a category-
  • Despite claiming a high color-rendering score, Cree's bulbs didn't make colors look noticeably better in our tests. The bulb also wouldn't dim much lower than 10 percent at minimum settings, which is a little high
  • This is a best-in-class LED floodlight that's priced like a bargain bulb. Put it right at the top of your list if you're in need of new lights...

  • Abstract:  Most of the press covering LED bulbs is directed at Edison-style A19s designed for lamps and traditional fixtures. But the truth is that the modern home tends to be filled to the rafters with other types of light fixtures, the recessed canister chief amon...

  • Cree's newest floodlight is one of the brightest money can buy, and it dims smoothly on a wide variety of common dimmer switches. It also offers an uptick in color quality compared with the average LED
  • It might not dim as low as you'd like if you're using an older dimmer switch
  • This is a very well-rounded LED at a fair price, and perfect if your home has high ceilings...

  • At $10, Cree's new LED floodlight is one of the most affordable big-name options available. It scores well in both brightness and efficiency, and offers better dimming performance than its predecessor
  • Cree's new bulb still can't match the color quality or dimming performance of the GE Reveal BR30 LED, and offers a shorter warranty, too. It also finished last in our heat-management test
  • Cree's BR30 LED offers strong performance at a clear value. For most lighting setups, it's an excellent choice...

  • The Cree Connected LED boasts solid lighting specs, strong ease of use, a wide range of control options, and a terrific price point
  • Unlike standard Cree LEDs, the new connected bulbs won't dim very well on dimmer switches due to interference from the built-in Zigbee dimming smarts. Also, the all-plastic aesthetic might not appeal to everyone
  • With tried and true hardware inside the bulb, strong performance on the Wink platform and the promise of additional hub options in the near future, this $15 smart bulb is a smart bet for connected lighting....

  • Energy Starrated, Bulbs stay cool, Warm, bright light, 10year warranty
  • May not work well with dimmers, Tight fit for a can fixture
  • The Cree BR30 LED Floodlight is ideal for use in a recessed fixture. Its 650-lumen output matches that of a 65-watt floodlight bulb, but the Cree gives off much less heat, which is a big plus in the summertime. Reviewers love the warm light these bulbs gi...

  • Abstract:  In late March, all of the US Home Depot stores began carrying Cree's new LED light bulbs. While they're by no means the first such bulbs to offer the same form factor as standard incandescent bulbs, their combination of a relatively low price and visually...
