TestSeek's Expert Reviews Summary
Staff at TestSeek has read all the expert reviews (so you don't have to) for this product and written a summary of what the editors think about the product.
The Sure SE115 in-ear headphones are part of Sure's lower-end line of headphones. At around 100 bucks, this doesn't mean that they are cheap or not good but rather that Sure is a brand directed to medium and high-end audiophiles. The SE115s are in-ear "Sound Isolation" headphones which are designed to be worn "over the ear". They are available in four different colors and are driven by Sure's own "Dynamic MicroSpeaker II"-system.
The cable is modular which means that there is an extension cable included which has to be used in most cases except if you wear the music player on your upper arm or similar. The design of the in-ear plugs makes the headphones most comfortable to wear over the ear (with the cable around your ears). The design is mostly appreciated by the reviewers but some think that the shorter cable is too short which makes it neccessary to keep the extension cable attached at all times. The cushions of the ear-plugs come in five different sizes (included) and are comfortable to wear for many hours.
The audio playback is of high quality although many of the editors report that the sound can many times be too "warm" meaning that there's a lack of detail. This is especially reported when listening to rock and hip-hop music. Lastly, the reviewers think that the sound isolation of the cusion ear-plugs works well.

TestSeek's Conclusion
Overall the reviews are mostly positive and a majority of the editors thinks that the audio quality is very good.
Comfortable fit and great isolation from outside sounds, mids are buttery smooth, modular cable design is handy.
Overly warm sound, pricey compared to other entry-level choices.
Shure is a well recognized name in the hi-fi audio community, with over 80 years of experience in the audio industry. Headphones, in-ear monitors, microphones and headsets are the “bread-and-butter” products from Shure and they have a well established ...
Abstract: Last year Shure launched the SE110 earbuds which were respectable but weren’t necessarily anything to write home about. But what a difference a “5” can make, as the company’s new SE115 earbuds offer an expansive audio experience that’s head and should...
Abstract: Few portable music players, however good, come with a decent set of earphones, which means it’s important to buy a good pair to get the best results.A decent set today can be bought for £25, so at £100 Shure’s in-ear SE115s seem prohibitively expensive...
Bass not as strong as advertised, Short cable reach, Middle-of-the-road quality, *
Shure’s SE115 is a decent set of headphones, and most will appreciate the quality for the price. That said, the package’s biggest selling point – the bass – isn’t as strong as advertised and an extended reach requires buying...
The Shure SE115s are a nice option for $120, but it has some harsh competition at this price point. They did have some issues in our testing, specifically our frequency response test, but still remain solid at their price point. If youre looking to u...

The Shure SE115 earphones offer a comfortable fit; full, beefy bass; multiple eartips; and a useful carrying case.
The SE115 earphones sound isnt as detailed as we would have liked.
While they fall short on clarity and detail, the Shure SE115 earphones deliver impressive bass, making them a solid option for people who listen to a lot of hip-hop and reggae.
Modular cable, Several Ear Tips includes, Good sound quality
Expensive, A tad heavy
The Shure SE115 Sound Isolating Earphones are much cheaper than other earphones I have reviewed recently, but the average consumer will still consider them expensive. The cost is one of the few real issues with the Shure SE115 Sound Isolating Earphones...
Strong overall performance for the price. Solid bass response. Secure fit.
Boosted bass and treble may disappoint audiophiles. Some potential harshness in the mid-high frequencies.
With more bass and a lower price tag than most Shure models, the SE115 will appeal to those looking for a budget-friendly earphone upgrade—but not to those who want flat response....
Abstract: Shure's SE110 earbuds emerged victorious in last summer's in-ear headphone battlemodo, delivering great sound quality and value. Now the new, improved SE115s have arrived, promising superior bass handling over its predecessor. Do they meet expecta...
