  • Compact design; advanced options; sensitive aerial; quick navigation; road names
  • Paying for traffic data; no AC adaptor; no multimedia
  • Whether you want a simple, out-of-the-box sat nav or a smart, flexible companion for complex journeys, the TomTom One XL Europe or TomTom One XL Regional will fit the bill. Its not cheap and lacks the flash media functionality of some rivals, but whe...

  • Software, that screen, easy to use, price
  • Its quiet big, no stylus included, no traffic support dongle included
  • Good, but we personally prefer size out of the car to size in the car

  • Suffice to say, were far from impressed with the Tom Tom ONE XL Regional – and its far from the first Tom Tom unit weve reviewed that weve also had issues with. On only one of the five different journeys weve used it on has it behaved impeccably....

  • Quality of the new GPS Hammerhead receiver, Practical and intuitive interface, Free SD Card slot, TMC module finally an option, Screen user comfort
  • No home charger, TMC module not currently available, Predictive search function is a little slower than with other TomTom Ones

  • Big screen, Text-to-speech, Map Share, Great downloads and add-ons
  • Setting up text-to-speech is flawed, Can’t totally customize POIs, *
  • The ONE XL S offers very solid navigational performance at a reasonable price point. It’s easy to configure and use, and we imagine most users would be able to be up and running in just a few minutes, which is great. We like the text-to-speech f...

  • 4.3" widescreen display, Touchscreen controls, Accurate mapping and tracking, Simple and clean menu/map interface, Fast mapping and GPS positioning, Automatic rerouting and detour, Weather and traffic reports via Bluetooth (w/ fee and data plan), ...
  • Expensive, Butchered Bluetooth capabilities No handsfree calling, No texttospeech; No voice prompts for streets, Questionable menu structure and labeling, Worthless map zooming function, Lack of any multimedia functionality
  • Despite its flaws and shortcomings, the TomTom One XL is still a good GPS product worth considering; its just not great. For me, the frustrations of figuring out TomToms menu system and lingo prevented me from enjoying its navigational convenience. O...

  • I have to say that I am quite impressed with the TomTom One XL. This portable GPS system offers most of the features which people look for in a GPS. The colorful and user-friendly interface will be a big hit in the highly competitive portable GPS marke...

  • Abstract:  Phew, from out of the blue comes the TomTom One XL, in regional or Europe flavours. The original TomTom One, and its follow-up have been great successes, and the unit has now been updated with a lovely widescreen, but still in a slimline case. Lets ta...

  • The TomTom One XL features a spacious 4.3-inch touch screen, and comes preloaded with North American maps. The system is easy to use and provides accurate driving directions. Integrated Bluetooth allows you to add optional services, such as real-time t...
  • The system doesnt support text-to-speech functionality. Restaurants are not broken down by cuisine type in the POI database, and theres no easy way to view contact information for POI.
  • The TomTom One XL offers ease of use, accurate directions, and a spacious touch screen, but you can get more for your money from other portable navigation systems.

  • All the complaints I've listed above indicate that this TomTom isn't perfect. But they're not major enough problems to persuade me that TomTom is about to relinquish its crown as the king of in-car sat-nav.The One XL is easy to use, provides clear and sen...
