  • AI is fairer and less lucky, Pummel tiles add cool weaponry, Attractive isometric map
  • Viewing mana is a pain, Navigating the map is clunky, Character sound bites are lame

  • Abstract:  April 7, 2010 - Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords was one of the most surprising breakout hits of 2007. It's incredibly unique take on high-fantasy role-playing captured gamers' and critics' hearts in a way nobody ever thought possible, especially f...

  • Abstract:  I have something of a love/hate relationship with D3's Puzzle Quest franchise. It was love at first sight when I played the 2007 original, raving about it to friends and naming it my Game of the Year. But as much as I loved that game, I hate what Inf...

  • Abstract:  Although many gamers fell in love with its brilliant marriage of RPG and match-3 gameplay, the original Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for DS was severely flawed, a buggy mess that at times felt half-finished. Three years have passed, and now...

  • Abstract:  I fell hard for the original Puzzle Quest. The reliance on puzzles as the main mechanic for battle removed much of the randomness that frustrated me about RPGs; no need to worry about laying it all on the line, only to have invisible dice-rolls determi...

  • Abstract:  It has been three years since D3 published Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, a game that blended together the RPG and puzzle genre in a way no one though possible. The result was, simply put, magical, and proved more addict...

  • Abstract:  Like peanut butter and chocolate or French fries and ice cream, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlord's seemingly odd mix of genres just worked. It resulted in a surprisingly deep and layered experience from both its role-playing and puzzling parts. I...

  • Good variations on the basic gemmatching puzzle type, Powerful new weapons and armor abilities, Lengthy singleplayer campaign, Addictive puzzle gameplay.
  • RPG elements are dumbed down, Bland environments.
  • This sequel goes light on the role playing but still presents a compelling puzzle experience that's as enjoyable and addictive as the original....

  • Abstract:  Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords was a unique, inventive game that combined the addicting qualities of Bejeweled with classic RPG elements. The game's innovative mix was unique at the time, however, as much as I enjoyed many aspects of the game ...

  • Engrossing singleplayer campaign, challenging A.I. opponents. Improved interface for towns and dungeons is a good touch.
  • Somewhat light on features, no online multiplayer mode. Extremely dated graphics don't take advantage of the DS engine whatsoever.
