The editors liked

  • Basically everything about the hardware. The lightness
  • The thinness
  • The lovely screen
  • The front-facing speakers
  • The waterproofiness
  • The Snapdragon 801
  • The 3GB RAM. All that stuff is just great. We also like that it can power noise canceling earbuds
  • KitKat OS
  • Powerful processor
  • Good display resolution

The editors didn't like

  • In contrast
  • It's basically all software. Again. The skin Sony puts on just doesn't work very well. It slows things down
  • It makes things look worse
  • And it's less intuitive to use than stock Android. In fact
  • If this thing was a Nexus device and ran stoc
  • Less battery support

  • Incredibly thin andwaterproof, too, Snappy performance, Sony's Android UI is thoughtful and lightweight
  • Relatively short battery life, Glossy screen, Middling speakers, Both cameras are underwhelming
  • Not only is the Tablet Z2 the thinnest and lightest tab Sony has ever made, but also it's far and away the best. It's trim design and strong spec sheet makes it a strong competitor against similarly sized tabs from Sony's arch-rival, Samsung....

  • Super light and thin, Gorgeous display, Holy crap, it's waterproof, too
  • 'Meh' remote control app, Average battery life
  • It's skinny, it's pretty, it has serious brains and you can take it to the beach: The Sony Xperia Z2 isn't just a great Android tablet — it's a great life partner...

  • Thin and light. Waterproof. Sharp display. Speedy Snapdragon 801 processor.
  • Mediocre battery life. Feels delicate
  • The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is a stylish and powerful Android tablet, but aside from its razor thin profile, there's little to distinguish it from its peers....

  • Super-thin and light, Bright and colorful display, Water resistant, Long battery life
  • Annoying port covers, Screen resolution trails competitors, Mediocre audio, Back picks up fingerprints
  • The Sony Xperia Z2 is a wonderfully light and thin Android tablet that packs a vivid display and plenty of battery life in a water-resistant package....

  • Abstract:  Sony starts its quest to be the best with the most important component on any device: the display. Muted and lifeless LCDs were a chronic weakness of the company's previous Xperia devices, so the new Live Color LED screens on the Z2 and Z2 Tablet make for...

  • Still gorgeous and water-resistant, Vibrant updated screen, Lighter and thinner, SteadyShot and new camera features
  • Rain is its nemesis, No 4k or slow-mo video, Not a huge evolution
  • We review Sony's Xperia Z2 Tablet, the full ten-inch follow-up to last year's Tablet Z, packing a gloriously vibrant screen and updated specs. Time was, Apple's iPad was the sexiest tablet around by miles. Chunky plastic Android wannabes just couldn't c...

  • With the 12” NotePRO, Samsung created a niche productivity-oriented pad, while Sony's slate is exactly what a media and web consumption device should be – an extremely thin and light tablet, with the waterproof certification added for extra measure.Bot...

  • The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet's processor is searingly powerful and copes well with games. It has a bright, vivid display and its razor-thin body can be taken in the shower without worry
  • It loses its battery far too quickly in standby mode. Huge bezels around the display don't look good and make the body needlessly big, and its slim design has resulted in the whole thing being a little flexible
  • While the battery is a concern, the Xperia Z2 Tablet is still a good-looking slate that's loaded with more than enough power for anything you're likely to throw at it. It's a good choice if you're looking for a more affordable iPad alternative with 4G LT...

  • Slimmest, lightest 10” tablet on the market, Waterproof chassis, Bright, vibrant display, Quadspeaker setup with great sound output, Good camera quality for pictures and video, IR blaster to manage home electronics
  • High screen reflectance makes outdoor visibility difficult, The side bezels are on the thick side, Wobbly power/lock key, and thin, shallow volume rocker, The back smudges very easily
  • Sony's Xperia Z2 Tablet is a great improvement over its record-setting predecessor. It is even thinner, with a much faster chipset, a better display, and excellent sound output. The slimmest, lightest 10-inch tablet on the planet makes a striking first...

  • Abstract:  No-one could accuse Sony of a lack of commitment when it comes to the smart devices market. Last week, in Dubai, it launched three new smartphones, a tablet and a wearable, while at the same time promising a six-month upgrade cycle for new devices. "We...
