  • Tons of features, Straightforward to use, Good conversions
  • Expensive, You probably wont use the vast majority of features
  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 is the king of image-editors, the program by which all others are judged. Its also quite expensive, and its starting to find itself outstripped by cheaper rivals. Its the RAW conversion options were comparing here, though, and...

  • Imaging and productivity enhancements throughout; superb new image-alignment and monochrome-conversion tools; dramatically improved Camera Raw module.
  • Interface has some rough edges; some compromises in smart-filter functionality. Min specs: Universal binary, Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
  • Photoshop CS3 packs refinements and additions that will please digital imagers of every kind. There’s room for some interface polish here and there, but CS3 is also the most refined version of Photoshop yet. And while Intel processors deliver the be...

  • Same great functionality as Photoshop CS3 Standard, with additional tools for 3D and video artists. Universal binary.
  • Extended features need work. Some ImageReady functionality now missing.
  • The additional Extended functionality has a definite 1.0 air, and it will likely undergo serious refinement over the next few versions. Currently, we find it difficult for the average Photoshop user to justify paying more for the Extended version.

  • Abstract:  The test results speak for themselves. Its easy to see that Windows XP performs faster for all but 1 of the tests performed. As a total, with the Mushkin 2x1GB and Kingston 2x2GB memory configurations, the test suite ran 27% and 28%, respectively, fas...
