Extremely cheap compared to competitor products; rich feature set; easy to get the hang of; extensive help tutorials
Feature-limited compared to the Pro version; annoying marquee advert panel (despite paying for the software); dreadful user interface
Overall, Anime Studio Debut 7 is a very capable product, despite the diminutive price tag. Although it's aimed squarely at amateurs, this doesn't limit the possibilities and as such Smith Micro offers a clear upgrade path to Anime Studio Pro
The higher-end Anime Studio Pro offers support for importing/exporting/creating 3D objects, importing files from Smith Micro's Poser, and includes animation physics, among other differences. If you don't need that stuff, then Anime Studio Debut 7 will...
