  • Page loading speed, track pad, large screen, GPS, backlit keypad, java & ActiveX enabled, opens Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, etc)
  • Price, surfing charges, quality of rendering
  • The sole purpose of this device we are reviewing today is to let you surf the internet anywhere anytime. However, those want to chat (video/voice) or download stuff may not find this product very useful. Now you may be wondering why should you go for...

  • Abstract:  Datawinds PocketSurfer 2 is a mobile internet browsing device. It connects to the web over GPRS, and the included SIM card comes with one years worth of access, though thats limited to 20 hours per month. After the first year, you will need to pay ...

  • Abstract:  Free Internet anywhere! Yay! But... Great on paper, quite unpleasantly frustrating in real life. Datawinds Pocket Surfer 2 is a portable web browser. Which, in principle, is a good idea. Getting online on the move can be tricky, and some mobile phon...

  • Abstract:  An interesting concept and it does load pages quickly, but its lack of polish makes rivals a more attractive choice. The PocketSurfer2 is touted as a mobile browsing device, serving up the "real" web anywhere theres mobile phone reception. Essentiall...

  • Although it offers fairly nippy internet access and serves up web page after web page with little delay, we aren't totally convinced by the design of the PocketSurfer2 handset itself. That said, it's a compelling product that does what it sets out to ...

  • Super fast internet over GPRS, small, thin
  • Poor battery life, no digital camera, cant play flash or streaming video
  • Whether you care or not of how the PocketSurfer does what it does, doesnt matter, what you should be interested in is that the results are good, and thats the promising bit

  • If Datawind can improve the screen, keyboard and physical make-up of the PocketSurfer 2 then it will have an impressive gadget on its hands. It will have an offering thats excellent value given how pricey surfing can be on a mobile. The PocketSurfer ...

  • Abstract:  A good idea thats oddly executed, the $299.99 (list) PC Edge is a small handheld device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it pulls up full, desktop-style Web pages quickly and clearly. Unfortunately, its many eccentricities make it difficult to recommen...

  • Superfast Web page loading for a GPRS device. Displays Web pages including Java, Flash, and other technologies that most handhelds dont support.
  • Washed-out screen. Dithered graphics. Clumsy UI.
  • The PC Edge, aka the Datawind PocketSurfer 2, does a very neat trick of rendering desktop PC Web pages quickly on a handheld device. But that just isnt enough to make it worth buying over a smartphone or UMPC....
