Good value, Quiet, Impressive storage features, Expansion potential
Only costs slightly less than the Plus version and doesn't perform as well under load
The DS1515 is good value, well-built and packed with useful software features but the DS1515+ is better suited to heavy workloads and encryption duties...

At £470 the Synology DS1515 is around £70 cheaper than its non-plussed brother the DS1515+. Both NAS drives feature impeccable build quality and arguably the best NAS operating system in the market. The more affordable DS1515 takes an unknown ARM processo...

Five hot swap drive bays support up to 40TB of storage, Synology DSM 5.1 software, Solid build quality, Two USB 3.0 ports, Understated styling, Status LEDs for each drive, each network port and the overall NAS, Ability to add two five bay expansion units
The price is cheaper than DS1515but still seems expensive, 2GB of DDR3 cannot be upgraded, Are four Gigabit Ethernet really necessary?
The new Synology DS1515 five bay NAS a budget version of the DS1515+ that launched a few months ago and while the price of the DS1515 is significantly lower, the specification hasn't changed a great deal. The most obvious difference is a change from a qua...

Memory not upgradeable
The DS1515 is the Synology NAS that many businesses will have been waiting for. Offering five bays, an array of SMB features and ample expandability, it offers huge storage potential in a simple, easy-to-use box that can handle everything from client back...

I have been really impressed with Synology DS1515 +. If I was buying a home NAS for £400-700 today, this would be top of my shortlist. It hasn't got the processing power of higher priced devices, but the Quad Core Intel Atom sets it apart from lesser offe...
The Synology DiskStation DS1515 is the perfect small to medium business grade NAS server thanks to its solid performance, expandable storage support and reasonable price.Granted the DS1515 isn't cheap, but at $650 it has a lot to offer. The DS415+ for exa...

The DiskStation DS1515 delivers DS2015xslike performance for a portion of the price. It's faster and more efficient while providing better expandability and network features than QNAP's TS651.
Synology could have been more flexible with the DS1515's memory options and we don't think the DS1515should cost nearly 20% more for two extra USB 3.0 ports and the company's Docker app.
