  • Abstract:  Iomega has been at pains recently to demonstrate a renewed commitment to the Mac platform, and this new desktop hard disk is one of the most visible signs.

  • Preformatted for Macs out of the box. Works with Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows XP. Mac-complimentary styling. Fast triple interface, including FireWire 800. Includes Retrospect Express software.
  • Preformatted for Macs (inconvenient for PCs). Changing RAID settings involves unlabeled DIP switches. Drives not user-serviceable. Could use eSATA for the fastest transfer times.
  • A quick "drop-in" solution for professional Macs, the Iomega UltraMax (640GB) gives the Mac user speedy, portable storage. PC users can use the UltraMax too, but its really a Mac-oriented drive....
