Abstract: Hi and welcome to my review of the Thermalright AXP-140 Cpu cooler.First off to those who dont know much about thermalright I will be happy to share a little info on the company straight from their website.Company info Thermalright is an elite design hous...
When it was all said and done, I was very frustrated and disappointed with the mounting system used on the AXP-140, No matter how great the heatsink performed, the installation left a sour taste, I hope anyone who runs this heatsink doesn’t plan on...
We have seen several instances where large 775 heatsinks have been ported over for use on the Core i7 and one thing is typically clear about them all, they don't do so well. The biggest reason behind this is related to heat capacity and how fast they...

The Thermalright AXP-140 offers tremendous levels of cooling at very low air flow and noise levels. Designed with HTPC's in mind, the AXP-140 will make sure your focus is on entertainment instead of how loud and annoying a CPU fan can be. ...
Small enough for most cases, Good build quality, Great for HTPCs
Missing one antivibration strip, No fan included, High(ish) price (~$59.99), Doesnt perform well under high temperatures.
As you can see from the above, the temperatures are not overly great. The AXP-140 performs great under low heat situations (stock, idle) but doesnt do as well with high heat output. Perhaps it would perform better for lower power CPUs, or dual cores...
Great performance vs. noise, Outstanding build quality, Looks good, Overall good compatibility with different chassis.
No fan included for the relative high price, Package was missing one of the antivibration strips (quality control).
The Thermalright AXP-140 is a very good performing low noise performance CPU heat sink that is designed for use in today’s HTPC world. As a matter of fact, it would also make for a good cooler in your Lan Box or something of that nature where vertic...
Let’s start with the drawbacks. In my opinion, there are three of them and they can be lined up as follows in order of significance: support of LGA775 platform only, high price, limited compatibility. First, I couldn’t quite understand why a c...
Performance, 2U Capable, Capable of low noise performance
Motherboard removal required
Not only from the results the AXP-140 produced, but also from its sheer size, the AXP-140 is one of the best HTPC oriented CPU coolers Ive seen. Though it wont fit in a 2U case with an attached fan, ambient has shown itself to be more than sufficient...
La última vez que analizamos un producto de Thermalright, concretamente el TRUE Black 120, quedamos prendados del gran trabajo realizado por la marca. En esta ocasión, ha caído sobre nuestras manos el Thermalright AXP-140 para HTPC, y hemo...
