  • CoolerMaster has come up with a very, very attractive and useful chassis for the PC enthusiast with the CM Media 281. The fact that it’s easy to work with, very sturdy, and provides plenty of ventilation for adequate airflow, make this case a solid...

  • Well what can we say, the Cooler Master 280 doesnt present any features that suggests its not a budget chassis. Theres just a bit too much cost-cutting for our liking. Cooler Master could have used higher quality, cheaper materials such as plastics...

  • Abstract:  Video Review: The Cooler Master CM Media 280/281 Case is one of a kind, because it can be transformed from a mid-tower case into a HTPC. There are two different versions of this case, the 280 and 281. The only difference is, the 280 comes with a remote and media center with VFD, the 281 doesn't. This case is available in a black color and is mostly constructed from steel, except for an aluminum/plastic front bezel. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end

  • Abstract:  Its been quite awhile since we tested any Coolermaster product. Although we have to be quite honest and say that were huge Stacker fans (who isnt?), we were pretty psyched with the possibility to try something completely different - something that w...

  • The CM Media 280 is once again a full featured offering from Cooler Master. With support for enough devices for a good HTPC, and the convertibility to be a good Mid-tower as well make this one case to not overlook. The CM Media 280 has sharp looks an...

  • Lots of room for drives; sleek look; convertible between tower and desktop; built-in display; quiet design; includes Media Center remote, built-in receiver
  • No integrated card reader; heavy; too large for some A/V racks; installing most devices requires a screwdriver
  • Relatively compact but with room for two high-end video cards and lots of drives, this stylish, quiet case is equally welcome on the desktop and in the living room. ...

  • Tower or desktop configuration, 60, 80, and 120mm fan compatibility, Inverted motherboard design, Easy installation, Tool-less optical installation, High quality craftsmanship
  • Optical and floppy drive bay doors stick, Not 100% tool-less, POP3 email accounts only, Associated Press news only, No RSS or forum updates
  • The Cooler Master CM Media 280 Convertible HTPC Case case does not disappoint at all, and is everything I have come to expect from Cooler Master. Everything has been well thought out; from the initial design and VFD placement, all the way down to the r...

  • All in all, what can we say about the 280?Well, it's certainly a novel concept. We've not come across a case that can work in both desktop and tower orientations, especially not with rotatable front bezel. Whilst the idea initially appears a novelty, i...

  • Excellent Looks, Great Cooling, Innovative Design, VFD Display w/hot keys, Universal
  • Could have included a few more fans.
  • The Cooler Master CM Media 280/281 kind of falls in to Burger King slogan "Have it your way! Flip it either way and the result will be pleasing. The CM Media 280/281 covers just about all the bases when it comes to a HTPC case. There really is no...
