  • With a price-tag in the region of £79, the Antec Sonata III 500 isn’t ultra cheap. However, that sum also buys you a fairly high-specd power supply thats currently priced at £52.88 from YOYOtech and doesnt seem to be selling for significantly less a...

  • Abstract:  The Sonata III is the third version of Antecs mid-range quiet PC case. Although it isnt very cheap, the price includes a 500W power supply, so it is good value. The top half of the lockable front panel hinges open to reveal three 5.25in bays and t...

  • Abstract:  The original Sonata was one of the first chassis to address the issue of noise. Besides a fascia overhaul, the third iteration isnt vastly different, adding HD audio and eSATA outputs to the front, as well tweaks to the internal airflow. Otherwise,...

  • Great power supply
  • Awkward to work inside
  • If youre setting up a new-build PC then the Sonata III is a good investment. Its got a 500W PSU pre-installed in the case, which comes with the requisite dual 6-pin PCI-E plugs needed if youre looking at fitting a whopper like the 8800GTX, or an SLI...

  • I was surprised at how quiet this case really is. However, there are even more things that Antec could have done to make this even better. Foam covered side panels would absorb noise and rubber grommet’s on the 5.25” bays would stop annoying o...

  • There is no mistake that ANTEC made only slight changes to the Sonata III, but the tweaks here and there were definitely improvements. In my opinion, they improved the overall look of the case with a freshened front bezel. The “why fix it when it’s n...

  • Abstract:  Video Review: Generally, cases with a power supply are intended for the budget market. I believe Antec had this in mind with the Antec Sonata III Case. This product is mostly steel with a stylish plastic front bezel. There are 3x5.25", 2x3.5" (ext), and 4x3.5" (int) drive bays. Conveniently located at the front are 2 USB2 ports, eSATA port, a microphone jack and headphone jack. There is one included Antec Tricoool 120mm fan at the back and an optional 120mm fan can be installed at the front. Overall, this is a great case and they include an excellent high efficiency 500W power supply. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.
