  • Lots of great features, Glorious performance, Excellent lens
  • Not cheap
  • JVC’s range of Everio camcorders has proved mighty successful over the last few years and the latest addition to its HD stable looks certain to continue the trend. The first consumer camcorder to provide Full HD recording – that’s a reso...

  • Abstract:  We were very impressed with Canons HV20, which is about the cheapest way to create your own High Definition (HD) footage. JVCs Everio GZ-HD7 isnt as cheap as the Canon, but its a lot more serious looking and is aimed at anyone who wants to shoot...

  • Abstract:  A great next-generation camcorder, but itlacks editing support for the recording format. With both Sony and Panasonic already shipping AVCHD products, and Canon due to release models in August, the format is gathering pace. But the latest in the Everi...

  • Nice manual features; attractive design; high-quality audio; low-noise, low-light video
  • Ineffectual optical stabiliser; needs a built-in ND filter; some horizontal jitter and stuttering during playback; low-resolution video; sad battery life
  • If this camcorder cost under £500, wed give it a much higher rating. But for its quadruple-digit price, we expect far better performance and video quality from the JVC Everio GZ-HD7 ...

  • Glorious HD footage. Pro lens. Great range of manual controls. Optional station burns footage to DVD.
  • Ropey image stabiliser. No direct headphone socket.
  • The HD7 looks the business and largely delivers, but it’s pricey for point and shooters ...

  • Undeniably stylish; joystick navigation.
  • Optical image stabilization doesn't really work; worst 1080i footage quality; bad contrast.

  • Hard drive stores five hours of video. Works with external mics. Nice manual focus ring.
  • Expensive. Notsosharp imagery. Bad image stabilization. No headphone jack. Footage hard to edit in Final Cut. Not fully iMovie ’08 compatible.
  • We love the HD7’s roomy hard drive, but the camera’s sky-high price and subpar image quality should make you think twice before buying. If you plan to edit video in anything other than iMovie HD 6, we’d recommend skipping the Everio HD G...

  • Abstract:  Video aficionados have all been waiting for consumer HD video cameras to finally have full 1080i recording. They are here . . . well, sort of. The new JVC GZ-HD7 is 1080 alright, but it has to interpolate to get the complete 1920x1080 dimensions. That ...

  • Abstract:  Despite its compact size and solid features, the HD Everio is better suited to the amateur videographer than the average consumer
