  • We like the design of the Roam2 and it's fairly good value, but we're not keen on plugging it into a computer to change settings and video quality isn't the best we've seen...

  • As an all-weather, easy-to-use action camera, the Contour ROAM 2 is a great little piece of technology. It's got some useful enhancements from the original ROAM, and is far cheaper than the high-end Contour+2. It captures good, but not great, video and ph...

  • Abstract:  Contour's new ContourROAM2 action-sports camera manages to fit a lot of capability and quality into its $199 dollar. New action sports cameras are popping up all the time. Most, however, are simply bringing the most standard of features and mediocre image...

  • A very simple POV action cam, the Contour ContourRoam2 produces nice video; is waterproof without requiring a housing; includes a 4GB microSDHC card; and has a threaded tripod mount for more mounting options
  • All changes to settings -- including shooting modes -- are done with desktop software, and the ContourRoam2 can't record 1080p video at a 170-degree angle of view. The rechargeable battery can't be removed or replaced by a user
  • As long as you don't need to change shooting modes on the go, the ContourRoam2 is a simple way to capture fine-quality POV videos in dry or wet conditions.

  • Simple and no-nonsense use, Rotating lens with laser leveling, Solid construction, Automatic exposure and white balance settings performs well
  • Settings must be changed while plugged into computer, Lacks manual control, Included mounts are adhesive based
  • For basic POV filming the ROAM2 passes the test, although, outside of the rotating lens, there isn't any standout feature to set it apart from the rapidly expanding choices for compact, mountable video cameras. Definitely check out the available mountin...

  • Wide field of view in 720p, 60fps recording option, Rugged construction
  • Widest edges of video aren't sharp, Internal mic could be better, Battery not removable
