  • Excellent video quality. Impressive battery life. Handy manual adjustment tool
  • Humdrum styling. Control wheel a bit zippy. Beaten by the HV20 for features
  • An all-round performer that shoots great footage, but is beaten by Sonys SR7E for style and Canons own HV20 for features ...

  • Abstract:  Hot on the heels of Canons HR10 DVD HD camcorder comes the hard disk-based HG10. Despite many technical similarities, the two models look and feel completely different. While the HR10 has attractive curves and bronze highlights, the HG10 is a far m...

  • Excellent image stabilisation; generally great video quality
  • Poor audio control; smallish EVF; some annoying ergonomics; no manual focus dial
  • Theres no doubt about it -- the Canon HG10 takes sharp, well-exposed photos and HD videos. Unfortunately, its poor design and audio control make it hard to recommend above its competitors ...

  • Abstract:  Canon’s HG10 is an HDD (Hard Disc Drive) high-definition camera with a 40GB drive, which, at its best recording quality, will store more than five hours of video. It uses Canon’s 1920x1080 CMOS sensor and can record 1080i60 as well as 1080p24...

  • Abstract:  In the world of digital video cameras, there have evolved several ways of storing the images as they are recorded. The first one is the way its been done for years: tape. The other three are more recent developments. For awhile, it looked like record...

  • Despite minor gripes, the HG10 offers solid performance at a reasonable price. And that's enough for us to recommend the Canon HG10....

  • Crisp, clean video with image stabilisation; large buttons and intuitive layout; solidly constructed and fairly priced
  • Memory cards dont store video; switching between video and stills is fiddly; HD footage is very data-heavy
  • With a bright and clear screen and viewfinder, the HG10 handles like a dream

  • Compact size, Video quality, Price, Fast AF system, Easy to use.
  • Fiddly four-way jog button on LCD, Some handling foibles, Audio issues, Small EVF, Lacks manual focus control.
  • The HG10 provides great video quality and a set of excellent features. But it has a few issues that let the side down and certainly, you should get your hand on one of these to try before you buy after all, stubby fingers might not be an issue for yo...
