  • Inexpensive, text messaging, lightweight, SureType texting
  • Music player, camera
  • The Samsung Blast Mobile Phone is an inexpensive cell phone that offers quite a few features. Before you even open the phone, a multidirectional toggle is present along with seven dedicated buttons that spread around it, making for easier navigation o...

  • Abstract:  What T-Mobile might lack in the way of a high speed data network, they more than make up for with service plans and features geared towards families and messaging addicts. Their myFaves plan and Sidekick family of devices have caught on with budget-con...

  • Small dimension, SureType keyboard on such a small phone, Messaging capabilities
  • Keyboard takes some time getting used tovvv, Battery life, Some noise when talking, Can’t run media player in the background
  • Well, the Blast was a good phone overall. There are some things to consider before going out and buying it however. First, if you live on your phone, you better have a charger on you at all times and make use of every plug that comes your way. Otherwis...

  • The Blast seems to be a very confused handset. Its being marketed as a hip, youth-friendly text machine. This is all well and good, but its unresponsive keypad means texting is sometimes frustrating, its cheap plastic design isnt really hip, and its...

  • SureType keypad is better than numeric for messaging. Full range of messaging options, including IM, e-mail and SMS. Nice color scheme.
  • Keys are a bit flat, shaped oddly. Call quality was average at best. Messaging options lack compelling interface. Multimedia options are very basic.
  • The Blast could have been a better phone. With a snazzier interface, and robust yet simple messaging options, the Blast could have been a much more interesting messaging phone. We might quibble about the keypad, but the SureType layout works for us, ...

  • AOL, IMAP4, POP3, Push Yahoo e-mail, Long battery life, Slim and light, True random play music
  • Poor voice quality, Inconsistent e-mail service, No direct access to music player, Low ringer volume
  • Samsung calls the 20-key alphanumeric keyboard on its newest T-Mobile phone "QWERTY-like." But the messaging-centric Blast slider ($99.99 with a two-year contract) is an awkward compromise, even compared with SureType-enabled devices like the BlackBerr...
