It's not a universal controller. Some compatible games end up with awkward button layouts. The old-fashioned lack of analog pads means it won't work with many iOS games. Android compatibility limited to an emulator app
iCade succeeds in shrinking last year's arcade cabinet down to a clever pocket size with the 8-Bitty controller. Even though it won't work with many iOS games, the price is low enough that some people will want to buy it anyway for the novelty.

The iCade Mobile's buttons work responsively, and the accessory does indeed add physical controls to your iPhone or iPod Touch
The unit is bulky, the buttons feel cheap, and the list of supported games is limited. Also, there isn't an analog pad for more modern shooters

For a novelty item, the iCade is pricey. For now it only works with Atari's classic game app, and some of the Atari games play awkwardly on a joystick
If your iPad gaming tastes run to classic Atari console and arcade games, the Ion Audio iCade is a fun nostalgic trip. Otherwise wait for more compatible games to be released....
