  • Abstract:  Published March 21st 2011. Written by Sean Bell. Dragon Age: Origins was pretty great, so you can imagine how ridiculously pumped I’ve been about the arrival of Dragon Age II. After all, if a BioWare game has issues, it’s usually safe to assume they’ll...

  • Brings a lot of innovation and gravity to the series. Looks great.
  • Struggles with plotline. All set in one city.

  • It's hard to say no to a BioWare game
  • Feels slightly rushed, soulless
  • None of this should detract from the fact that Dragon Age 2 is still a thrilling, absorbing game to play, and for those left unsatisfied by Mass Effect 2′s streamlined approach to combat and levelling up, it should still please. Us though, we’d have be...

  • An improvement over the original, but still suffering technical issues and from the fact it’s decidedly old-fashioned in many regards. Still, Dragon Age 2 is a deep and involving experience, sure to eat up a huge chunk of your spare time. 8.2/10Print t...

  • Abstract:  Short version: Dragon Age II is a simplified sequel to probably the best RPG I’ve ever played on a console. With that in mind, I came to this game excited, open, and interested. Yet Dragon Age II feels like playing an MMORPG without the MMO part. RPG f...

  • I struggle to say this, because Dragon Age: Origins was a contender for Game of the Year 2009 in my book, but its tepid and disjointed follow-up is nothing short of a disappointment. I hesitate to call it a terrible game as well, because it isn’t that...

  • Hours of game play, including valuable side quests, Rich story supported by well developed characters, "Dragon Age II" looks and sounds stunning, The "acts" are broken up with a enjoyable story involving a dwarf and the chantry
  • Oversimplifying things such as the dialog streamlined game play too much, The game isn’t really a sequel nor is it entirely a new title, instead it falls somewhere in between, You’ll spend the majority of your time in one city, instead of seeing more of the country, Quest and dungeon maps quickly become repetitive

  • Great dialogue, interesting story, narration is good, wonderful voice acting, intuitive controls, leveling up is less complicated, friendship/rivalry system is instituted for party members, facial animation for event segments looks better than it did in Dragon Age: Origins, can load a DA:O save file to have your choices there influence the game and you only have to worry about Hawke’s armor. New
  • There’s lots of asset recycling (expect to see the same enemies and cave/ruin/house locations a lot. Story pretty much stays just within Kirkwall and three locations just outside Kirkwall. Plus, it will probably only take around 20 hours to beat it. Romancing party members can be tricky since you can’t talk to them at any time to get an idea of their feelings. Sandal’s role seems cringe-worthy t

  • Abstract:  Being a huge Mass Effect fan has it's disadvantages. The biggest problem is that I instinctively compare every RPG that I play to ME even when they aren't the same type. The reason this is so detrimental is that I'm usually disappointed in other RPGs t...

  • Dragon Age II is another evolution of BioWare's RPG format. It features slick combat, interesting characters and an intriguing narrative that - for those who can ignore the presentational shortcomings - combine to make an incredibly immersive role-play...
