  • Redesigned interface, new audio controls and filter effects, quick creation of DVDs
  • Poor documentation fails to explain many new features for first-time users

  • Abstract:  For those who need more power than is offered by Mac OS Xs built-in disc authoring tools, Roxios Toast Titanium has long been the best authoring alternative.

  • Abstract:  Just got the boxed version of Toast Titanium 8 in and I’m quite confused, yet happy, yet trepidatious. I’ve always liked Toast — it’s simple, straightforward, and it burns solid disks with little fanfare. But what’s all this TiVo stuff then? For...

  • Easy to use. Good iLife Integration and improved Bundled Software. Fit to DVD compression works with TiVo. Blu-Ray and Lightscribe Support.
  • Icon view burned discs still come out jumbled, instead of arranged or snapped to a grid. Motion Pictures HD not Universal Binary.
  • It is rare when a piece of software works so well that its name becomes synonymous with what it does. For example, we have all heard of pictures that look like they were “Photoshopped.” Although Toast is very much improved since Roxio became i...

  • Wide support for media, hardware, audio, video, and disc formats. Large burns span across discs. Video can be processed for iPod. Universal binary.
  • Extra utilities add little punch. WMV importing requires thirdparty tool. Wont back up most commercial DVD movies. Windows users get TiVoToGo for free.
  • Toast 8 Titaniums extras are only occasionally useful, but its vast support for disc burners and formats makes it easy to recommend. ...
