The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is an awesome mid-range phone. It's fast, has a great camera and is fully waterproof. You can get it in a variety of colours and it won't be a cause for discomfort in your pocket. Honestly this is one of the best phones in it...

Well-specced for a “Mini” unit, Best screen we've seen on a Sony device, Sony scores again with a waterproof device
Smaller screen can be fiddly for typing, Camera button is a bit of a disaster
It seems the “Mini” devices might always be a generation behind their big brother flagships. Before we get disappointed by the comparison though, it's worth remembering that the screen resolution compromise usually brought about by the smaller screens usu...
Small form factor, Battery is a real trooper, Outstanding performance for a skinned device, Display is great for a Sony handset, , THE
Plastic back prone to scratches and many, many finger/oil marks, Bezels, plenty of them, Camera button is much too small, Camera UI could be more intuitive and tailored to users
Manufacturers have made their efforts to respond to interest in smaller flagships with releases of “mini” variants of their own, often charging fairly exorbitant coin for mediocre specs. Sony's offering goes beyond the approach of attaching a flagship nam...
Excellent system performance; Mobile broadband speeds are solid; Fantastic design and build quality; Built to survive a chance encounter with the elements; Better battery life than its big brother;
Camera has load of megapixels, but will only spit out either an 8 megapixel image if you actually want controls (like the Z1); No 4K shooting;
Possibly better than its big brother, Sony's Z1 Compact manages to get everything we liked about the Z1 into an even smaller package, making it suitable for anyone who wants something new, fast, and powerful, but also loves the size of the iPhone and does...
Flagship specs in small body, Great camera, Waterproof
Ordinary looking
Sony has achieved something special with the Xperia Z1 Compact. The company has created an excellent phone — first. Then its added wonderful features to it, like the high resolution camera, exquisite display and its I'm-not-scared-of-water attitude. By no...

Flagship specs, Waterproof, Decent battery life
Poor bundled services, Awful low light photography, Glass back prone to smudges
The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is the perfect device for those who think that some of the leading smartphones are just too big, but still want the best specs on the market. Those top-end innards crammed into a smaller device means high-end power isn't missin...

Its small size makes it comfortable to use, it has a searingly powerful processor, a good camera and decent battery life. It looks brilliant too and its waterproof design means you don't need to worry about dropping it in the bath
It's not running the latest version of Android and some of Sony's software tweaks don't really add anything to the experience
With its powerful processor, great camera, decent screen and gorgeous, waterproof design, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is the best small Android phone around....
Excellent build quality, Highly specced for top-tier performance, Fantastic display and image quality, Retained all the key features of the Z1 at no compromise
Casing highly reflective and picks up dirt, Marks easily, Image processing slightly slower than expected, Difficult to handle despite size
All in all, the Z1 Compact is a flagship in every regard but one - size. This is by no means a bad thing, as it will afford Android loving consumers the ability to opt for a device that still packs a considerable punch without eclipsing their palm. When p...

Unflappable performance, A battery life that's anything but mini, 4.3in size lets you get things done quickly, Rain and pool-proof, Great screen
Compact, yes – but not as ergonomic as an iPhone, Camera isn't the best on a phone this size
With clean lines, an impressive screen and a size that belies its pure grunt, the Z1 Compact is the first smaller-sized Android powerhouse that really does tick of all of our boxes. The One Mini before it had a lovely screen but was let down by poor batte...
