  • Phone design and shape feel great in hand, Great build quality, Moto extras are genuinely useful
  • Camera quality is rather poor, No expandable storage, Back is a bit slippery
  • I really enjoyed using the Moto X. I think the software is nice and quick, and the design is actually rather nice to look at and hold. The only real let-down for me is the camera, as it's just too hit and miss. However, everything else on the phone is gre...

  • The Motorola Moto X has a sharp 1080p screen, a swift quad-core processor, nifty software and gesture features, and customizable design options that'll fit anyone's style
  • A minimalist camera, combined with no expandable memory, are the handset's only drawbacks
  • With the latest version of Android on board, as well as a bold screen and a good camera, the Motorola Moto X is a decent all-round phone. The Moto G has all this though, and costs half as much. Without the wide choice of colours the Moto X has in the US, ...

  • Runs using Android 4.4 KitKat, software additions are great, decent performance
  • Screen could be crisper, bit pricey, internal specifications don't match those of other smartphones in its price bracket
  • The Motorola Moto X's slightly disappointing internal specifications are by and large balanced out by its close to untouched Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and useful software additions. However, you can still get better value for money elsewhere....

  • Classy, simple design, Neat 'active display' notifications, Excellent HDR shots
  • Out-of-date processor, Poor low-light camera shots, Slightly overpriced
  • The Motorola Moto X isn't a bargain like the Moto G. And it doesn't have the specs to be a true top-end phone. However, the streamlined approach it takes to Android is exceptionally easy to get on with.Next, read our Best Mobile Phones Round-up...

  • Comfortable to use, decent screen, smooth performance, latest version of Android, largely vanilla user interface
  • Specs are sub-par compared to rival smartphones, not a 1080p HD display, camera is average, no microSD card slot

  • So why has the Moto X left us slightly baffled? There's no doubt this is a very good handset, and if you won it in a raffle you'd be chuffed to bits. With a fabulous screen, fast processor and decent battery, it ticks all the boxes. The camera isn't the best...

  • The Moto G is the problem with the Moto X. Basically, Motorola made such an incredible value handset that its more expensive offering would have to be something truly special in order to compete.Perhaps if you were to take into account the customisation t...

  • Great design, nice features over the standard Google offering, fantastic battery life
  • More expensive than the Nexus 5 and a lower spec, camera isn't amazing, no Moto Maker customisation (yet)
  • In one sense, nothing has changed since our initial Moto X review based on our US experience of this phone. But that was six months ago and pre-Nexus 5. Times have changed, but our soft spot for this phone hasn't. We still do wholeheartedly recomme...

  • The Moto X won't blow you away with top of the range specs: instead, it's the software smarts inside the phone that make it all the more desirable. The main draw is its touchless controls, all thanks to its smart voice recognition tech made possible with a custom mobile computing system, dubbed the X8. It consists of a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, a quad-core Adreno graphics which com
  • While the Moto X is a solid piece of kit, we can't help but feel it's also a tad bland. It doesn't scream premium: instead, it looks and feels more like a secondary phone, even though it should be battling for first place with its software smarts. It also only comes with 16GB of storage, and you can't boost it with a microSD card either - if you want more space, you'll have to spring for the pric
  • Motorola has come up with a respectable phone in the Moto X, but it's far too late to the party, and it just costs too much. It's also too similar to its even lower cost sibling, the Moto G, sharing the same screen resolution, shape and nearly the same...

  • All day battery, Handsfree Google Now, Innovative notifications, Onehanded camera, Solid build
  • Underpowered, Expensive, No microSD
  • The Motorola Moto X is a curious creation. On the one hand it has a handful of innovative and genuinely useful features which really help it stand out from the crowd, but on the other hand it really is a bit underpowered given the £380 price tag. If you w...
