  • Android 2.0 is impressive; the screen is glorious; apptoOS integration is revolutionary.
  • Terrible, terrible keyboard; no multitouch; no tool to manage background applications.

  • Abstract:  Recently, I have had some time to check one of the latest Verizon smartphones, the Motorola DROID running Google Android 2.0. This is the first time I had used the Android platform and I was pleased with the hardware functionality of the DROID as well...

  • The Droid will not transport you to that island paradise for an instant vacation, but it will do most of what you need to do with a smart phone. The Android app collection is well on its way, and, like the iTunes store, it features many free and inexp...

  • Bright, sharp display, Direct Outlook synchronization
  • Ships with Android 1.5 instead of 2.0, Front panel softkeys difficult to find
  • If you can live without a hardware keyboard, the HTC Droid Eris is an affordable and feature-packed alternative to the Motorola Droid. ...

  • Abstract:  The Motorola Droid is the first Android phone born into the Verizon Wireless family. It is also the first phone lucky enough to get the Google Android 2.0 operating system. Keep reading for a close look at this trailblazer. The Droid is packed with feat...

  • Gets the rated talk time, Seems well made, Thin and lightweight, Low price
  • Slow and just frustrating to use, Clunky interface, Short talk time or battery life, Not very finger friendly, Poor call quality, Poor picture quality, Poor signal
  • The DROID Eris is a low priced phone, it’s a budget priced phone that should appeal to those wanting to jump on the Android bandwagon. It’s a thin and lightweight phone that seems well made.Other than its low price, the DROID Eris really has n...

  • Abstract:  If the Motorola DROID is too complex for your smartphone tastes, Verizon’s other droid-enabled phone, the HTC ERIS, might just be right in your wheelhouse. The simpler and slimmer DROID ERIS ditches the QWERTY keyboard, yet still retains most of the fl...

  • Great screen, Touchscreen offers feedback, Great browser
  • Keyboard keys too flat
  • The Motorola Droid is easily the second best handset I have ever tested. It wouldn't replace my iPhone 3GS (if that were an option) but the handset is one of the best on the Verizon network I have ever tested. If Verizon is you carrier, the Droid shou...

  • Android OS 2.0. Background tasks. Scary-good voice command.
  • Physical keyboard is horrible. Worst camera ever. Feels like a brick in your hand. No direct synchronization with iCal or Address Book.
  • The Droid still manages to be the second-best smartphone on the market. Unfortunately, the hardware isn't nearly as good a dance partner as the software, and the Droid could easily be knocked from that spot when Android 2.0 is available on other phone...

  • Abstract:  And yet, Droid shows off the best of Android: good onboard searching and Google services integration, superb Web browsing (especially on Verizon’s network), a promising app platform, and a real PC-like mobile experience.
