  • Expandable memory via microSD, 4 different colour variations, Good build quality, Responsive menu controls
  • Low resolution display, Small memory for apps and games, Limited feedback from the keys, Built-in battery, No video-out
  • Windows Phone 8S by HTCFor currently 260 Euros (~$346) HTC brings an entry-level smartphone for smartphone newcomer and switching users to the market with the Windows Phone 8S. In this review we especially liked the case with its solid appearance yet low...

  • Abstract:  It seems to be the norm, at least for me, that the flagship Windows Phone 8 device from a manufacturer is just a little bit too big for me, a little unwieldy, and while it has the best specifications, that's not what I'm looking for in my smartphone. Just...

  • Abstract:  Hopefully you've all read my in-depth written review of the HTC Windows Phone 8S, and now it's time to take a look at the device in action. The entry level device impresses with a solid polycarbonate unibody design and a decent amount of speed from the 1....

  • HTC has really tried to produce a stellar low-end Windows Phone with the Windows Phone 8S and a good portion of what it's produced is great. For one, the build quality and design is superb; showing off the quality of engineering that can come from the ...

  • The HTC Windows Phone 8S is the first Windows Phone 8 handset to fit into the mid-range price category. As such it's not quite the performer of the high-end Windows Phone 8 devices, but it's not so poor as to make it a bad deal. It offers solid perfor...

  • Solid build quality, much like the HTC 8X, with a large selection of colour choice and a MicroSD slot for further storage expansion, the 8S certainly stands out. It's also inexpensive at a number of sources compared to highlevel hardware.
  • Bottom clip can prove difficult to remove, only has 4GB internal storage for apps and games. No frontfacing shooter. The rear camera isn't anything to be excited about and HTC could improve OEM app selection. Going to struggle against Lumia 620 / 820
  • with the number of Windows Phone 8 handsets being released, but who is the HTC 8S targeted at? If you're looking for a solution that's just above "budget" then the HTC 8S is for you as it's an affordable Windows Phone. Should you be after a more complete...

  • Catchy and ergonomic design, microSD card slot
  • No frontfacing camera, Subpar outgoing calls
  • HTC has made a mucho sympatico handset with the 8S, shaping it in a two-tone ergonomic bod, with very easy one-handed operation. It has skimped a bit on the camera quality, and not even included one for video chat, but the rest of the readings are soli...

  • HTC very nearly nailed the Windows Phone 8 market. The 8S is well designed and a great size: not everybody wants a huge smartphone, and many people who told us they liked the design of the 8X but wanted something scaled more like an iPhone 5 had no su...
