The editors liked

  • Roku beat Google TV without even trying. The new interface makes the prospect of navigating hundreds of channels—thousands and thousands of shows and movies—a non-nightmare. It makes streaming music on Spotify or Pandora a cinch

  • Great interface, Huge range of apps, Fast and responsive, Small, neat design, Handy remote, USB/microSD/casting support
  • No 4K support, A little pricey
  • The Roku 3 is my favourite way to watch TV and, pending a miracle, will remain so until I can get my scone-fondling British mitts on a Roku 4...

  • The Roku 3 is a premium player with a superior feature set to rivals. The wireless headphones are a boon and the UK content selection is superb, although we experienced lip-sync issues and network media playback is too unreliable....

  • If you want a streaming device between now and November, this is the one for you. Unless of course you are an Apple fanboi but then you were going to buy the Apple TV anyway. ®...

  • Content is treated equally, voice search remote works well across available services, supports screen mirroring, the Roku app has voice search too
  • The voice search remote is the only new thing, Roku 2 is cheaper and has voice search through Roku app, no HDMI cable included in the box
  • The new Roku 3 is certainly a top-of-the-line streamer, but the Roku 2 is just as cool and even more affordable. Sure, the cheaper model doesn't have the voice search-enabled microphone or dedicated listening via the remote's headphone socket, thoug...

  • Speedy operation, An extensive features list, Remote control,
  • USB-file compatibility could be better,
  • We are very happy with the Roku 3. It is pricey compared with rivals, but its list of features is impressive, and leaves the similarly priced Apple TV far behind.Factor in the super-slick operational speeds and Roku is on to a winner...

  • Abstract:  Last year we reviewed the Roku LT, a cute streamer with Wi-Fi hookup, slick interface and neat handset. It offers loads of on-demand content, arranged into a grid of channels that can be added to or removed from as you choose. Among them are BBC iPlayer, ...

  • Abstract:  The thing that enticed me to look at Roku 3 was its ability to stream sound so that you can have no sound from your TV and still hear sound through the ROKU 3 unit to headphones or earbuds, ideal for those who don’t want to disturb others....

  • Speedy interface, Simply to use, Good content selection, Funky design
  • Poor file playback, Poor remote headphones, Expensive
  • Overall, we rate this latest iteration as the best Roku yet made. But that $100/£100 price tag seems punishingly expensive given the lackadaisical attitude to file playback and lack of UK specific catch-up content. Remember, you can buy Sky's similar Rok...
