The editors liked
Best battery life for an Android Wear watch yet
And the transflective screen is nice for quickly checking the time of day
I love that the charging port is just a plain old micro USB
Which means it's really easy to charge it anywhere
The watch itself d
Pros
Built-in GPS
Slim
Waterproof design
Good performance
Sharp display
Comfortable to wear
Good battery life and quick charging through micro USB
The editors didn't like
The SmartWatch 3 doesn't have a built-in heart rate monitor
Which is become a key feature for wrist-worn devices for people who are serious about their health. The Moto 360
Fitbit Charge HR and Basis Peak constantly monitor my heart
No heart-rate monitor, average battery life, screen looks dull

GPS built-in, good battery life for standard use, microUSB charging, slim design
Design lacks premium quality, display not the brightest, Android Wear still has limitations
The Sony SmartWatch 3 manages to improve the feature set compared to its predecessor thanks to built-in GPS. But it still falls short in a some areas, making that smartwatch purchase decision less clear cut than the high-flying Sony specification ma...
Built-in GPS for phone-free running, Android Wear runs slick and smooth, Waterproof build, comfortable strap, Decent battery life
Washed-out colours and yellow whites, No heart-rate monitor, Proprietary watch strap
Open Gallery The Sony Smartwatch 3 has the brains of a Google watch, coupled with GPS skills for fitness fans, with plenty of power and decent battery life. But its screen does let it down and it's not as attractive as its Motorola and LG rival...
The SmartWatch 3's biggest strength is its built-in GPS, but you'll still need a smartphone for driving directions. It's also great to see a standard USB charging port. The transflective screen is a good idea, but in practice battery life is no better tha...

The Sony SmartWatch 3 has built-in GPS to track your workout without needing your phone. It's waterproof, has a built-in USB port for charging without a dock and runs Android Wear smoothly
Its screen is pretty awful, with poor colours and viewing angles. Its plain, square design makes it much less stylish than the LG G Watch R and it doesn't have a heart-rate monitor built in
Although its ability to use GPS to track your run is handy, its poor screen, uninspiring design and lack of a heart-rate monitor means the SmartWatch 3 doesn't impress over its more luxurious Android Wear competitors....
