  • Samsung's Gear 2 Neo comes with a more attractive price, a feature set that's nearly identical to the more expensive Gear 2, and a lot of bells and whistles including apps, offline music playback, and heart-rate monitoring
  • Many of the extras don't work as smoothly as you'd expect. Fitness features aren't well thought out, need polishing. Works only with Samsung phones and tablets
  • The Gear 2 Neo offers the best balance of features and price among Samsung's three 2014 smartwatches, but it falls short of must-have status....

  • Abstract:  After launching its Galaxy Gear smartwatch last year, Samsung is back with two new smartwatches : the Gear 2 and the cheaper Samsung Gear 2 Neo . Here's our Gear 2 vs Gear 2 Neo comparison. (See also: best smartwatches of 2014 .) Gear 2 vs Gear 2 Neo co...

  • At a more reasonable price tag than the flagship model, the Samsung Gear 2 Neo is decent smartwatch with plenty of features - we don't care about the lack of a camera. However, the need for a specific Samsung companion device and a limited amount of downl...

  • Beautiful display, good notifications options, looks good, easy to use, comfortable to wear, reasonable price
  • Lack of apps, limited compatibility, wrist flicking response a little slow, average battery life
  • The Samsung Gear 2 Neo does a brilliant job of what it sets out to do: acting a go-between to your Samsung phone. Despite effectively hitting the reset button and ditching Android in favour of Tizen, Samsung has resolved many of the issues with the...

  • Abstract:  It's been just over a week since we unboxed the new Samsung Gear 2 Neo smartwatch and in that time, we've put the original Galaxy Gear back in its box and switched to checking out every hidden facet of Samsung's latest wearable. From the journey of a Gala...

  • Nice, bright screen, Notifications work well, Easy to use interface
  • Poor app support, Battery life doesn't last a week, Average call quality, Only works with Samsung smartphones and tablets
  • Cheaper and slightly better value than the Gear 2, the Gear 2 Neo is a better proposition than the more expensive Samsung smartwatch. But that's faint praise, so we're still waiting for the smartwatch that convinces us it's worth owning....

  • Lightweight but durable, Bright, sharp, colourful screen, Excellent battery life, On-board music playback
  • Disappointing app store, Only works with Samsung phones, Cheaper than Gear 2 but still pricey
  • Open Gallery Having said all that about the looks, we'd still take the Neo over the Gear 2 . Losing the camera really isn't a loss at all, and while the Neo is less premium, the Gear 2 isn't that gorgeous to begin with. £180 is still a load to ...

  • Good improvements on original Gear, including style, speed, camera and much better battery life
  • Not as goodlooking as the Gear 2, many apps available yet, needs a dock to charge, accelerator doesn't always activate screen when you move, only compatible with Samsung smartphones
  • The Gear 2 Neo is in most ways identical to the Gear 2 , only dropping the camera and the price from the Gear 2. Good to see Samsung offering a more affordable alternative to its flagship wearable, but it's a shame the £50-odd saving also meant making i...
