  • Abstract:  Panasonics 7.1 SA-BX500 is the most expensive receiver here, but its also the only model with a multi-channel analogue input. This makes it a good choice for use with a PC. There are only three HDMI among the many inputs on the back, but that shou...

  • At the price, not much at all
  • Shrill sound, tricky configuration and a real lack of sonic finesse

  • If you're looking for an AV receiver and control center for you home theater system, the SA-BX500 makes an excellent choice. Price vs. features is excellent when compared to the competition, and Panasonic is gaining a good reputation in the AV world. S...

  • 130-watt per channel AV receiver; onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding; can bi-amplify compatible front left/right speakers; lightweight design with all-digital amplifier; built-in compatibility with Panasonic wireless rear speaker kit.
  • Doesnt upconvert analog video to HDMI; only three HDMI inputs; no onscreen display makes for difficult setup process; automatic speaker calibration isnt terribly accurate; no satellite radio support; very expensive given the underwhelming feature set.
  • Panasonics cool-running SA-BX500 receiver sounds fine, but its woefully underfeatured, especially considering its high price tag. Specifications: Product type: AV receiver; Sound output mode: Stereo; Amplifier total output power: 520 Watt; See full s...

  • From a features perspective, the Panasonic SA-BX500's credentials are unquestionable – a wireless-capable receiver that decodes all of the Blu-ray formats for under £400 is a real boon, and overall sound performance is impressive. It might not have enough...

  • On-board Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, Wireless expansion pack works well
  • Expensive with optional wireless expansion pack, Limited HDMI connectivity and upconversion, No on-screen display, Lightweight construction, Hit and miss auto calibration
  • The Panasonic SA-BX500 sounds OK but is too hard to recommend because of too many limitations for its asking price. The wireless surround pack works well, but just adds expense to an under-featured receiver. ...
