  • Improved sound over other Echo devices, Still the king of smart home skills, Alexa is increasingly capable
  • Sonos One sounds better, Design looks dated next to 2nd-gen Echo, High price compared to other Echos
  • Is it possible for a gadget to be both truly wonderful and a little underwhelming? Yes it is - and the Amazon Echo Plus is proof. This is a supremely smart speaker which could easily run your whole home, and is also the best-sounding Echo device ever. Wh...

  • Easy to set up, Routines and in-app smart device control, Expanding range of Skills, Clean audio and simple voice control
  • Poor sound compared to similarly-priced competition, Can't use Zigbee switches and sensors
  • A neat attempt at unifying the smart home, but the Echo Plus needs a few improvements before it works perfectly...

  • Abstract:  Despite what you may have read, the Amazon Echo was never a do-anything smart home device. Sure it could tell you about the weather and maybe control your lights, but it lacked the under-the-hood hub capabilities that could make all your connected devices...

  • Built-in smart home hub eliminates the need for a bridge between Alexa and your smart home devices, Seamless pairing with Zigbee compatible smart lights, switches, and plugs, Three color choices (black, white, and silver) available, Multi-room audio featu
  • Sound quality of speaker isn't as rich as we'd hoped it would be, Doesn't allow you to connect to other Amazon devices linked to different household accounts
  • Do buy it if you're in the market for both an Alexa-enabled home assistant speaker and a smart home hub at the same time. If you just need a home assistant device, the cheaper all-new Echo, Echo Dot, or Google Home are better choices. If you're looking fo...

  • The Echo Plus keeps the original Echo's design (and its beloved volume ring) while adding in an aux-out jack, a Zigbee radio to control smart home devices, and an incremental boost in sound quality. It costs $30 less than the original Echo
  • The Plus also costs $50 more than the new Echo, which has everything the Plus has except for Zigbee. The Alexa app isn't the fully capable smart home control center that the Echo Plus needs it to be, at least not yet
  • Hold off on the Echo Plus until Amazon improves the Alexa app's smart home controls...

  • Abstract:  So it turns out Amazon is pretty serious about smart speakers. After unleashing the Echo and Echo Dot a couple of years ago (those of us in the UK had to wait a little longer), the tech giant has wasted little time in upgrading and expanding the family.Ent...

  • Smart home hub integration, Powerful sound
  • Old Amazon Echo look
  • It's a shame the old look remains, but don't judge this book by its cover: the Amazon Echo Plus is a powerful smart speaker that will make your home smarter in the easiest way possible...

  • Zigbee support build in, design remains unchanged, Alexa smarts
  • Same design as the original Echo
  • The Amazon Echo Plus in design is more akin to the original Amazon Echo and while is an upgrade from the original model, it's really about making smart home connectivity much easier rather than upgrading things like the design or the speaker. On the surfac...
