  • We like the new Daydream View VR headset, but while it's nice to see Google making improvements on the original we're not convinced that the £30 price bump is warranted for slightly better lenses and an additional strap.Tags:Gadgets, Android, Wearable Tec...

  • Better straps, Wider view
  • Still bulky, Not enough phone support
  • The new Daydream View is, well, fine. It improves in some key areas - namely fit - but it still needs far more phone support to be a real must-have device...

  • Google Daydream could be the next big hit in the virtual reality simply because it's accessible. That's its big advantage over its main competition.Right away, you'll love its price. It's $79 (£69). That may be the new magical price to get more people to...

  • Tons of Potential, Lightweight Design, Comfortable, Cost Effective, Remote is Great
  • No Sense of Depth, Lack of Engaging Content, Needs HD Visuals To Be Truly Engaging, Limited Handset Support
  • Google's first foray into the VR space is decent, a mixed bag, sure, but a very solid effort that shows huge potential for growth and innovation in the future. As it stands, the content and quality of imagery just isn't there at present but the arrival of...

  • Abstract:  Alongside the rise of high-end PC-based virtual reality headsets, we've seen a number of smartphone-based VR technologies offering a taste of the future at a fraction of the price. The Daydream View headset is Google's attempt – but is it a dream come tru...

  • Comfortable, affordable, impressive VR experiences
  • Steep hardware requirements, hard to keep dustfree, needs more apps, a drain on battery
  • Daydream is nothing short of a revelation. Assuming your phone can cope, it makes powerful VR experiences accessible to the masses...

  • Affordable, portable and easy to set up. The bundled motion controller is convenient and easy to use. Exclusive YouTube, Google Street View and Google Photos feel like potential killer apps
  • It only works with Google Pixel and Moto Z for now (more on the way). The headset is front-heavy and frequently needs adjusting. There's limited app selection at launch and you can't walk around or grab things in VR
  • The Daydream View is the simplest, most affordable way to turn a phone into an immersive VR headset...

  • You'll need a Daydream VR compatible phone but the Daydream View VR headset is certainly an accomplished device. Its attractive style is complimented by a comfortable fit, although an over the top strap might be an oversight for more energetic tasks. The...

  • Comfortable, Intuitive, Good 'experiences'
  • Dust on lens, Not as capable as 'proper' VR, Questions about durability
  • So what did we make of Daydream View? Well, it's certainly a very comfortable experience and it worked fine with our glasses and we can see it definitely appeal. It has it's flaws, the biggest being the amount of dust that can settle on the lens, a...
