  • Apple drew a line in the sand with the iPad. It set expectations for performance, price point, usability, ergonomics, display and quality of apps. It's rare that Apple does this. Normally Apple capitalizes on the mistakes of those who came before it by us...

  • Abstract:  Today the first iPad 3Gs will go on sale starting at 5PM at Apple Retail Stores and Best Buy. Those who preordered at the time of announcement should be receiving their shipments via Fedex before then. The device itself hasn't changed except for a blac...

  • The iPad, like most modern Apple products, is a revolutionary device capable of changing the way we interact with music, movies and the Internet forever - except it's just going to take some time and a few updates to get there. Do I like the iPad? Yes....

  • Abstract:  So to summarise: I think the iPad will be a big hit, it already is in the USA. I suspect that the UK and other countries will see the initial iPad stocks sell out rapidly. But this will all be to gadget geeks like me. For it to be a success on the scal...

  • Abstract:  Your decision to buy an iPad "WiFi + 3G" depends a lot on your situation. If you are happy with the AT&T 3G service in your town or at the places where you travel, then it's nice to have as an alternative to WiFi. But don't expect the upload speeds (or download speeds) to match a good..

  • Abstract:  Today's iPad is like Hannah Montana: polished, happy, and fun, but also grasping for maturity and hopelessly overhyped. Forget the commercials and just imagine a real iP

  • Great battery life. Everything the Wi-Fi iPad does well, this iPad does just as well.
  • No way to sign up for or manage the 3G data plan except on the iPad itself. We had significant activation problems requiring multiple phone calls to fix. Why is this device tied to AT&T again?
  • Caveat emptor. If your activation goes smoothly (and it should), we’re sure you’ll love your iPad. If you get stuck on error Q5033, either return the iPad immediately or get ready for some quality time with AT&T’s service techs. But really, if you don...

  • Abstract:  Wi-Fi may be plentiful these days, but it's far from ubiquitous. A device like the iPad is just begging for always-on Internet access, whether it be for checking mail, surfing the Web, or even keeping up with your latest game of Words with Friends HD....

  • Sleek design, Intuitive and fun multitouch interface, Good download speeds, Affordable data plan, Long battery life
  • Slow upload speeds, Some video apps degrade quality over 3G, Costs $130 more than Wi-Fi only model, VoIP apps don’t work over 3G
  • Integrated mobile broadband makes Apple’s excellent tablet much more useful on the go, but the additional expense doesn’t make sense for everyone.
