  • This year's version of the Alienware M11x has markedly improved graphics performance and battery life, and the laptop's solid build, USB 3.0 ports, and impressive 5.1 surround-sound Klipsch speakers are also pluses
  • The M11x still has a chunky chassis; also, the lack of an optical drive isn't a dealbreaker, but can be frustrating when installing games
  • Don't be fooled by its unchanged looks: the 2011 Alienware M11x makes big leaps forward in performance, graphics, and battery life, while keeping a reasonable price. Anyone looking for a portable gaming-ready laptop will have a hard time resisting the ur...

  • Amazing battery life for a Windows laptopSpeakers sound significantly better than most larger laptopsBacklit keyboardIncredible power for the price
  • 100Mb Ethernet on an Alienware laptop? For shame.SIM card slot is a tease that can't be fulfilled
  • Alienware's M11x is an incredibly impressive laptop at a temptingly affordable price. About the only thing we can find fault with is the ridiculous 100Mb Ethernet port, and the inclusion of a SIM slot that does nothing. If these don't bother you, then ...

  • Excellent build quality, good battery life, fast graphics performance, 7200rpm hard drive, excellent touchpad, good looking lights
  • Doesn't have Gigabit Ethernet, Core 2 Duo CPU isn't ideal for taxing processing tasks
  • Alienware's M11x is a good option for gamers who want something small and easy to carry around. It's an 11in laptop with a decent mid-range graphics chip and it can run old and new games alike. It's very well built and its lights look great at night. It's...

  • Light on weight, with a funky design and a relatively clean Windows install.
  • Location of input/output ports causes space issues. Reflective display can be hard to view. No webcam. For an expensive device marketed at gamers, it's not particularly powerful.
