The 2990WX is a beastly CPU capable of breaking records on rendering tasks. Other processes that can utilize many cores but are not memory intensive could benefit from the 2990WX
Memory bandwidth issues result in inconsistent performance on a variety of tasks. Very expensive. Potentially a onetrick pony that does one thing really, really well, but the others not so much (for the price)

Battlefield V is playable on quad-cores but you can expect frequent frame dips, resulting in less consistent frame rates. For the most part, we've found that the older Core i5-7600K has been hanging in there pretty well with AAA titles released in 2018...
– Single core performance is weaker than cheaper high end Ryzen 7 CPUs
Threadripper has been an undisputed success for AMD and showcases the higher end of their Zen+ architecture. The value-adds like Ryzen Master and StoreMI are legitimate extras that consumers or enthusiasts can use. Pricing is competitive, perhaps even agg...
The performance of the 2990WX is interesting, at some points it's extremely impressive, and at other points, it's less impressive. That is basically because of the way the dies are connected, which results in long pathways to certain cores/dies. In applic...
About a year ago during the launch of Threadripper I was in the process of being impressed yet again by how far AMD had come with the Zen architecture. Before it, there were unfulfilled expectations, a successive line of disappointing launches and a real...
