  • Huge lens and display, Surprisingly good images, All-in-one functionality
  • Hefty as hell, Clumsy controls
  • A powerful - if heavy - alternative to budget D-SLRs, especially if youre after a big zoom and movie mode.

  • Abstract:  With the 8-megapixel Samsung Pro815 attempts to blow the SLR-style competition out of the water. Were talking 3.5-inch LCD, secondary LCD, high-res electronic viewfinder, a powerful Li-Ion battery good for up to 450 images, and a huge 15X optical zoom...

  • Decent image quality. Longest zoom and biggest LCD for a fixed-lens point-and-shoot digital camera. Wide-angle end of the zoom range reaches 28mm. Includes manual-focus ring. Lots of options.
  • Some shutter lag in non-flash situations. Big and bulky. No image stabilization. Limited to 30-second video clips.
