  • Abstract:  The Olympus SP-510 UZ may be the top ultra-zoom digital camera from Olympus, but its performance is far behind its top competitors. Image quality of the SP-510 is actually pretty good. Images are well exposed, show good color and corner-to-corner shar...

  • 10X optical zoom lens, good resolution, nice mix of manual and automatic features, good value, very easy to use
  • Some blurry photos, large camera body, LCD should be better, EVF wont appeal to everyone
  • Digital camera manufacturers always look to set their models apart in a highly competitive market. Olympus has achieved that goal by including a 10X optical zoom lens in a sub-$300 model, the SP-510 UZ.That 10X optical zoom lens makes an amazing diffe...

  • Great guide modes help you select appropriate settings and modes. Very good macro mode. Can shoot in RAW. Conveniently uses AA batteries.
  • Mediocre performance. Poor burst mode. Special xD cards required for highest video performance. A bit of shutter lag is noticeable.
  • The latest superzoom from Olympus provides welcome guidance in the field but needs buttressing in terms of quality and performance....

  • Abstract:  The Olympus SP-510 Ultra Zoom offers the highest image resolution of any 10x digital camera on the market, an Olympus ED Zoom Lens, a large 2.5-inch LCD and extra-long battery life (up to 630 shots from standard alkaline batteries). Designed to satisfy...

  • Overall, the Olympus SP-510 UZ is an eminently usable digicam that will perform acceptably in a broad range of outdoor picture taking situations.Serious shooters will likely be put off by the SP-510 UZ’s shortcomings, but scrap-bookers, family shutter...

  • Sleek, silvery design is futuristic but functional. Comfortable handgrip Great color, good dynamic range, and decent sharpness in images shot in adequately lit conditions
  • Excessive noise in images shot above ISO 400 Inadequate resolution for 2.5-inch LCD Sluggish overall performance and during picture-taking and general operations Outdated menu system No paper manual for advanced instruction, only CD Only digital image ...
  • Though long-time users of Olympus cameras might be more forgiving of some of the quirks on the Olympus SP-510 UZ, I struggled with this camera when shooting in anything but the most ideal of circumstances. While this 7 megapixel camera offers light sen...

  • Captures both JPEG and RAW formats, Weighty build means a former grip, Lots of features for the price
  • Verdict, Good Points, Captures both JPEG and RAW formats, Weighty build means a former grip, Lots of features for the price, Bad Points, Plastic build betrays the SP-510UZ’s inexpensiveness, Image noise visible above ISO400, chance of image...
  • Good results are achievable from the Olympus SP-510UZ if you work at it, and there’s a wealth of hand holding options for the beginner to simply point and shoot, but we feel more experienced photographers will want something extra from the cameras p...

  • Not many but it runs on AAs
  • Substandard picture quality Slow response, especially saving RAW files Feels cheap
  • Unlike my last review when I had difficulty choosing between the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi and the Sony alpha, the conclusion for the SP-510UZ is much easier—don’t buy it. A quick search found this camera going for around $329 from a legit d...

  • Great body design; high-quality, fast lens; manual exposure controls.
  • No optical image stabilization; high noise at ISO 400 and above; lens not wide enough.
  • The Olympus SP-510UZ is packed with cool features, but a not-so-wide lens, sluggish performance, and noisy images steal its fire.

  • Good image quality under good light and using the RAW mode, Reliable ESP metering, Excellent white balance producing natural colours, RAW format, 10X optical zoom, Excellent optical qualities, Complete range of capture modes, Compact and light
  • Sensitive to noise, No optical stabilization, Flash a bit weak
  • The Olympus SP-510 UZ is the revision of the SP-500 UZ, released last year. This new version offers a 7.1 megapixel resolution, a 10X optical zoom, and a 2.5-inch monitor. The body is silver-coloured plastic — the only metallic part is the ring...
