  • Good image quality with low noise. Water-, freeze-, drop-, and crush-proof. Tap-enabled interface. Lens is protected by a retracting shield. 2GB of internal storage. In-camera manual and guide.
  • Pricey. Images are soft towards the outer areas of the frame. Noticeable shutter lag. Long delays between shots. LCD shows motion blur.
  • With its tap-enabled interface, the Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 is a good fit for those who want a top-of-the-line rugged build, HD video capture, and a camera that's easy to operate while using gloves. Buy it now...

  • After what we went through with the Olympus Stylus TOUGH 8010, and after talking to some tourists about the camera and its immediate predecessors, we are advising you to stay away from the Olympus Stylus TOUGH 8010. If you really want a rugged cam, st...

  • Heading up the 2010 "Tough" line from Olympus is the Stylus Tough 8010, which updates the 8000 released last year. While it retains the same "Tough" qualities as the Tough 8000, the Tough 8010 features a dedicated Video Record button, 2GB internal memo...

  • The Chuck Norris of pointandshoots — virtually indestructible. More functions than we know what to do with. No casing needed to take pictures under the sea.
  • Shutter is prohibitively slow. Photo quality not on par with similar rugged cameras. Menu system needs a serious overhaul.

  • Tough features are handy in poor weather, Panel protecting memory card and battery slots is especially secure, Some good intermediate photography features, Lens remains protected at all times, Macro modes work very well
  • Response times, especially startup time, are below average, Overall image quality could be a little better, LCD is a little small, but is of good quality, MSRP is a little high, although price has fallen a bit, Menus can be a little tough to learn to use

  • Abstract:  And finally, it amazes me that people who make cameras that can go underwater or in snow never seem to think what happens if it is dropped — because you will at some point — and a silver colour in the briny is very hard to see.

  • Toughest compact camera money can buy. Full SD/SDHC support. HD video recording. Many improvements over the previous model
  • Can't save high-quality JPEGs in Program mode. Image quality only just OK. Double-locking battery and card door can be fiddly
  • The Tough 8010 is the strongest compact that money can buy, and features HD video recording. Still, its slow performance means you will miss critical shots and its image quality is only just OK....

  • Olympus’s armour-plated compact might be the toughest camera we’ve seen. But can it match the performance of Panasonic’s FT2? ...

  • extrem solide, gute Ausstattung, integriertes Handbuch, 1,6 GByte OnBoardSpeicher,
  • sehr langsam, weich wirkende Fotos, teuer,
