  • Excellent build, nice slim design, Picture quality in wide angle up to 800 ISO, 1080p HD video mode with optical zoom and stereo sound, Pleasant to use, clear controls and menus
  • Picture quality not quite as good in telephoto, Slower to switch on than previous models, Lowdefinition screen, Sound isn't particularly accurate
  • The Canon Ixus 220 HS is a nice surprise. It takes good-quality pictures, it's very well made and it's user-friendly. You'd be hard pushed to find anything better in the same price range....

  • Fair value given the better than expected feature set and noise free performance in lower light, good build quality, larger than average buttons for an ultra compact
  • Lack of handgrip, small-ish 2.7-inch screen, no 3D mode
  • Slim for its class, fair value pocket snapshot with “High Sensitivity” credentials for low light photography plus Full HD video with stereo sound for those looking for compact “all in one” device for the holidaysKey specs12 megapixels, HDMI, Li-ion bat...

  • If you are looking for a mid range pocket digital camera the Canon IXUS 220 HS offers good all round quality. It is a well made camera and is capable of handling most photo opportunities. Compared to a lot of pocket cameras it has a little extra class...

  • HDMI output, Good low-light performance, Suitable for camera beginners
  • Average speed performance, Some loss of sharpness at edges
  • The Canon IXUS 220 HS's power switch is slightly recessed into the top plate to prevent accidental activation when handling the camera. Give this a press and with a sprightly chirp the camera almost instantly bursts into life, LCD switching on and lens de...

  • Super-slim stylish compact design, 24mm equivalent wide angle, 1080p24 movie mode, Scene mode movies and super slo mo, Excellent image quality.
  • Relatively small 2.7inch screen, Lengthy linear exposure mode menu.
  • The Canon ELPH 300 HS / IXUS 220 HS is a gorgeous little camera that seems to strike the perfect balance between size, features and ease of use. It's 2mm thinner than the ELPH 310 HS / IXUS 230 HS and slightly smaller in the other dimensions, and alth...

  • The Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS is a fun-to-use ultracompact with excellent photo quality even if just left in auto
  • The 300 HS might be too small for some, and accessing its shooting modes other than auto is laborious
  • If you're looking for a nice, simple ultracompact for use indoors and out, you'll want to strongly consider the Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS.
