  • Abstract:  Less than a week after arch-rival Nikon grabbed headlines with the D600, Canon responded with an announcement of its own price-conscious full frame DSLR, the EOS 6D. And just like that, a new market segment was born: the mid-range full...

  • Excellent detail in raw file output across ISO range, Class-leading low light focus sensitivity (from central AF point), Very effective JPEG noise reduction at highest ISO sensitivities, Impressively quiet 'silent' shutter drive mode, Quick Control menu provides easy access to shooting settings, Wi-Fi-enabled remote camera control via smartphone or tablet, Effective and easy to use multi-exposu
  • JPEG engine struggles with low-contrast fine detail at low ISO sensitivities, Low density 11 point autofocus array with only one cross-type AF point, Single card slot (SD), Slow burst rate compared to its full frame peers, Cannot configure common live view and movie mode options independently, Video output prone to moiré artifacts, Slightly lower resolution than all of its full frame peers, HDR
  • The EOS 6D is Canon's attempt to entice DSLR owners who are looking for the benefits of full frame shooting - including shallower depth of field and wider-angle lens coverage, but can't afford the EOS 5D Mark III. Naturally though, Canon doesn't want ...

  • Abstract:  Canon's first affordably-priced D-SLR with a 35mm-sized sensor is rather more conservative than its Nikon rival, but there's still a whole lot to like and it dazzles with its imaging performance. There was a saying about London buses that you'd wait ag...

  • Abstract:  The new category of more affordable D-SLRs with 35mm-sized sensors is primarily aimed at amateurs, but they're also good news for professionals. Taking a hit on obsolete digital cameras has been a fact of life for working photographers, the downside o...

  • Full-frame sensor, Comparatively affordable, Great for all types of photography
  • Fixed screen, Very soft shutter button
  • Canon's EOS 6D is a great introduction into the world of full-frame photography. It's a relatively fast camera that's easy to use and its high ISO performance is stellar. Well worth considering if you're an enthusiast, but you will also need some new lens...

  • The EOS 6D is an excellent camera, particularly for stills photographers looking for excellent imaging performance in a relatively compact and lightweight camera body – for its sensor size. Its feature set will suit most advanced amateurs and experienced ...

  • Built-in Wi-Fi is easy and seamless to use. Full-frame image quality is excellent. Lightweight body. GPS in-camera
  • No headphone jack. Video quality not as good as the Mark III. AF system could use a few more points
  • An excellent camera for Canon users who are looking to step up into the world of full-frame photography, the 6D delivers great photo and video quality, as well as effective Wi-Fi....

  • The low-light, high-ISO performance of this camera is so good that we left it set to ISO 1250 and loved the results. The wi-fi connection to a smartphone works brilliantly.
  • Some may miss an inbuilt flash, which on the competing Nikon D600 can control offcamera speed lights
  • For anyone hankering after the superior images produced by a full-frame camera, and has a bag full of Canon mount lenses, the price of entry has been dramatically lowered with the EOS 6D. We recommend it without reservation, but must point out that there ...
