  • Abstract:  While most recent camcorders can take still images and almost all digital cameras have a movie mode this offering from Sanyo really does combine the two items in one casing, so is the camcorder/camera the way to go....

  • Abstract:  Sanyo has stuck with its traditional pistol grip for this high-definition camcorder, which has the added benefit of doubling as a digital camera. This dual role means that there’s quite a lot going on with this camera-cum-camcorder but, for the most pa...

  • Reasonably priced; simple to use; small and light
  • Patchy video performance; inaccurate colours; no HDMI socket
  • The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 has the potential to offer a killer combination of camera and camcorder at a budget price, but a range of performance issues and technical limitations mean that it falls some way short of being the ideal dual device ...

  • Eyecatching and generally wellconstructed; fast; image quality better than expected; beginnerfriendly,
  • Sound of the camera’s mechanical operation intrudes into quieter video clips; voice prompts quickly became irritating
  • Beginners can ease themselves gently into use of the CG10 but the more experienced may be put off by the level of hand holding offered...

  • The attractively styled Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 with its uniquely comfortable gun grip is both fun and simple to use. It produced decent stills and offers a good video resolution, though not at full HD. The generous onboard memory makes it good value, bu...

  • 720p HD video, 5x optical zoom, nice 3 inch color LCD screen, full featured for a pocket camcorder of its size,
  • There is no component cable and has a slow AF, poor still camera pictures and the pistol grip may not be for everyone.
  • Shooting both HD-quality movies and 10-megapixel photos is quick and simple, but the somewhat sluggish start and lower quality still pictures could be worked on....

  • Abstract:  In an attempt to create a new category of devices, Sanyo dubbed its latest Xacti camcorder models "dual cameras," designed to be equally adept at shooting movies and still photos. With the VPC-CG10, the company certainly got the design and features cor...

  • Highly configurable for a pocket camcorder; takes still pictures; includes flash for stills; removable media.
  • Video is over-saturated; HD cable not included; getting the best video requires playing with manual settings and even then results may be no better than a competing one-button pocket camcorder.
  • Taking all of this into consideration, there’s still the “Yeah, but” factor. While it’s true that there’s a lot of feature sizzle and not all of it produces the kind of results you get from a full-sized camcorder—yeah...
