  • Lightweight, Easy-to-use design, Captures moving subjects well
  • Slightly dull colors, Low light detail and focus problems
  • Samsung’s HD camcorder is light (5.0 ounces) and unassuming. Shaped more or less like a soda can, the HMX10 creates 720p video (1280 x 720) compressed to the H.264/MPEG-4 codec and stored either on the internal 8GB of flash memory or to SDHC/MMC+ ca...

  • Abstract:  The last time I used or even owned a camcorder was back in the mid-90s. They were always too big and transferring video was only something a pro did unless you were just copying to a VHS tape. It wasn’t worth the time or the effort. My, have times c...

  • Great quality videos, Although not harddrive based like some, Flash memory is shockproof, Easy to use, Compact size and handgrip swivel, SDHC/MMC support, Included dock/carrying pouch was a nice touch, Good battery life
  • Should include an HDMI cable as well, Would be nice if stillphoto quality was greater then it could double as a photo camera
  • Although flash/hard drive based HD cams aren't cheap yet, Samsung certainly has a great device on their hands in the lower price range of around $700. The HMX10A certainly left me impressed with not only great quality 720p videos but also a very good...

  • There are a lot of things to like about the Samsung SC-HMX10A. For starters, the quality of the HD videos is very good, even at the lowest HD quality setting. I especially liked the fact that Samsung took strides to make recording HD video easy by i...

  • Abstract:  The Samsung SC-HMX10 is clearly the leader in a burgeoning class of camcorders we might call “budget HD.” That is to say, among those camcorders not made by Canon, Sony, and Panasonic – all of which hover near or above the $1,000 mark &n...

  • Abstract:  Around the time that I started getting annoyed with AVCHD and my Panasonic HDC-SD5, Samsung and MWW approached me about testing out the Samsung SC-HMX10 camcorder. After finding out that the HMX10C didn’t use AVCHD and saved directly to friendly MP4...

  • Simple operation, Very light, Small and easy to carry
  • Cheap construction, Awful hand-strap, 720p only
  • The HMX10 makes a decent entry-level HD camcorder — with an awful lot of limitations. ...

  • Affordable HD, decent video performance, external microphone jack, swivelling hand grip
  • Cheap plastic build quality, only 720p, occasional noise issues The Final Word Its been a long time coming, but Samsungs first high-definition camcorder has arguably been worth the wait. If youre after an affordable high-def camera to use with you...
  • Its been a long time coming, but Samsungs first high-definition camcorder has arguably been worth the wait. If youre after an affordable high-def camera to use with your shiny new LCD TV, the VC-HMX10 represents good value for money.

  • Abstract:  The VP-HMX10C is the first High Definition digital camcorder to be released by Samsung. Touted to be very user friendly due to an intuitive touch screen interface, it comes with 8GB built-in flash memory, 10x optical and 20x digital zoom capabi...
