  • Picture quality and design are both outstanding, online and multimedia support is prodigious, and the interface features some clever touches.
  • Some aspects of the interface are rather inscrutable, gesture/motion controls don't convince, and a moviefriendly picture preset would help
  • Samsung's ultra-sleek new flagship 55-inch TV improves on its already impressive ES8000 predecessor in pretty much every way, setting the 2013 TV bar intimidatingly high....

  • The Samsung UE55F8000 is a true upgrade over last year's ES8000 series, and is the best LED LCD television that we've ever tested when it comes to picture quality. After a basic setup in the “Movie” mode, it produced excellent overall colour reproduction...

  • Stunning design, Outstanding picture quality, Sophisticated online features, Excellent touchpad remote control
  • Smart interface can confuse, Poor picture presets, Gesture/voice controls are unconvincing, Very wide stand design
  • The Samsung UE55F8000 kicks the 2013 TV race off in mostly astonishing style, as Samsung flexes its muscles to produce easily its best picture quality yet from a TV frame so small that you mostly forget it's there. The extent of Samsung's ambitions with ...

  • Impressive blacks and contrast ratio, Much improved backlight uniformity, Excellent greyscale and colour out-of-the-box, Reference greyscale and colour after calibration, Excellent video processing, Comprehensive calibration controls, Quad-core processing
  • Occasional motion artefacts with 24p content, Undefeatable frame interpolation with 3D content, The 'arc' stand needs a wide surface and can't be swivelled
  • Sometimes a product transcends its intended purposes and borders on a work of art; the UE55F8000 is just such a product. The look that Samsung has employed this year is a truly wonderful combination of technology and design, resulting in a television that...

  • Irresistible design, Outstanding 2D and 3D picture quality, Comprehensive and beautifully presented Smart TV features
  • Gesture and voice controls still frustrate at times, Samsung's Android and iOS app could be better, No picture preset for AV enthusiasts
  • The Samsung UE55F8000 improves dramatically over its already illustrious predecessor in almost every way, combining class-leading 3D images and outstanding 2D images with a huge, cutting edge feature count and even – honestly!- some startlingly good audio...

  • High-quality display and audio, Mobile app remote, Easy to use
  • Short power cord, Remote buttons should feature more popular streaming services
  • From its stylish edge-to-edge screen design and well balanced stand, to its excellent picture quality, the Samsung UN46F8000 looks great. However, when you add all its features into the mix, this set is even more impressive. Its native 2D, as well as 3D, p...

  • Slim, stylish design. Bright, detailed picture. Generous feature set.
  • Blacks could be darker. Ports are hard to reach. Motion commands are erratic
  • The Samsung UNF8000 series of LED backlit HDTVs offer solid performance and loads of features in a beautiful streamlined cabinet, but its black levels are mediocre and its ports are awkwardly placed....
