  • Astounding looks. Excellent screen. Silent operation
  • Over-designed peripherals
  • A better screen than most standalone monitors with a top notch Mac thrown in for free, though the new mouse is far from magical ...

  • Brilliant LED-backlit screens; across-the-board specification increases; quad-core model promises blistering performance
  • Magic Mouse is awkward to hold
  • Though still pricey compared to equivalent Windows PC set-ups, the new iMac line-up is more capable than ever, although the imminent quad-core model promises to be the real eye-opener. ...

  • Better specs at a similar price point to its predecessor; big, beautiful, bright display; all-aluminium case
  • Included Magic Mouse is an acquired taste; with a widescreen, high-definition display, the iMac would benefit from a Blu-ray drive
  • With a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, the 27-inch Apple iMac that we reviewed doesn't offer a dramatic increase in speed compared to previous models, but the LED-backlit display and specification tweaks are still very welcome. Unless your current iMac ...

  • Gloriously large, Crystal-clear, instant-on screen, Very fast processor, Can be wall-mounted, Video in - use as external display
  • Backlighting not entirely consistent, Can't adjust vertical height, No matt screen option, Optical drive seems slower than previous models
  • A very solid new release for Apple's iconic all-in-one, but a few issues need to be addressed with the next revision

  • Abstract:  The new iMacs introduce the most drastic changes to Apple's all-in-one aluminum design since the metal iMac was introduced a little over two years ago. The new design lends itself more towards use as central part of a home entertainment centre.

  • Abstract:  The 27-inch iMac sporting the Intel 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo processor may be the best value in the current iMac lineup. Offered at $1699, the 27-inch model has a gorgeous display that may well be the best display Apple has produced so far. Paired with the ...

  • Abstract:  The 27-inch iMacs are an interesting sweet spot in Apple’s current product line. The model we reviewed comes in at $100 less than Apple’s current price for the 30-inch Cinema HD Display, which of course doesn’t include an actual computer..

  • I have to admit, when I received word that the 27 inch iMac had hit the stores, I did too. I raced to the store so I could see one up close. It looks so much better in person than it does online in the photos. I felt like I was watching a television sc...
